    • Getting breather Saturday
Moreno is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against San Diego.

Advice: Moreno had started in four straight games since being activated from the injured list and will yield to Jose Herrera behind the dish Saturday. Moreno owns a .714 OPS and a 15.3 percent K rate across 235 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago
    • Brent Rooker drives in four of Athletics’ 19 runs
Brent Rooker went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in a 19-8 rout of the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: The Athletics have now scored 19 runs twice in 2024, which is two times more than any other team in baseball. This is a weird sport. Rooker hit one of five homers for the A’s, and he got the party started early with a three-run shot off a completely ineffective Cade Povich. He also scored three runs because of course he did, everyone did. That’s not true but it sure felt that way. Rooker has homered 18 times while driving in 54 runs in a very impressive first-half of 2024, even while playing for one of the worst teams in baseball. Rotoworld Today, 4:14 pm

    • To play catch next week
Yamamoto (shoulder) will begin playing catch next week, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Yamamoto has been shut down from throwing since being diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain June 16 but will resume a throwing program in the coming days. The 25-year-old is no longer feeling pain in his shoulder and seems to be on track for an August return. Rotowire.com Today, 3:47 pm

    • Semien blasts 12th home run in clutch situation
Marcus Semien went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk, and a two-run home run against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: The home run was Semien’s 12th of the year. Semien was 3-for-40 (.075) in his last nine games entering Saturday and hadn’t hit a home run since June ninth. He came up with the Rangers trailing by a run in the seventh inning and hit a go-ahead two-run home run that ended up being the difference in the game. He’s hitting .232 with .679 OPS and 47 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 3:44 pm

    • Bailey Falter leaves start with arm discomfort
The Pirates announced that Bailey Falter was removed from Saturday’s start against the Mets due to left posterior arm discomfort.

Advice: He’s currently being evaluated and treated by the Pirates’ medical team. Despite the vagaries of the diagnosis, anything related to the arm isn’t encouraging. The 27-year-old’s southpaw next start should be in question at a minimum and it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see him land on the injured list. The Pirates should have more information on his status at some point before Sunday’s series finale. Rotoworld Today, 2:48 pm

    • Battling arm discomfort
Falter was removed from his start Saturday against the Mets due to left posterior arm discomfort.

Advice: Falter was only able to get through two innings before making an early exit, surrendering three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two batters. The Pirates' medical staff will take him in for further testing, and the team will likely have a better idea of his availability for his next start once his results come back. • Stops swinging bat
Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Muncy (oblique) has been shut down from swinging a bat, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Roberts added that Muncy hasn't progressed through his rehab as fast as the team had hoped, and the chances of the third baseman beginning a rehab assignment near the All-Star break have been reduced significantly. A right oblique strain has kept him on the injured list since May 17, though his latest setback once again leaves him without a clear return timeline. Rotowire.com Today, 2:36 pm

    • Max Muncy (oblique) shut down from swinging again
Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Saturday that Max Muncy has been shut down from swinging a bat again as his oblique injury is simply not progressing.

Advice: Muncy has been sidelined since the middle of May due to a right oblique strain and any hopes of him returning in July are now out of the picture with this setback. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues that don’t have IL spots may be better served cutting bait and finding better use of the roster spot. Muncy has hit .223/.323/.475 with nine homers and 28 RBI in the 40 games that he has been able to play in this season. Rotoworld Today, 2:33 pm

    • Leading off Saturday
Chourio is the DH and batting leadoff for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Chourio hasn't slotted in at leadoff since April 23 and will be making his first career start at DH. The rookie is riding an 11-game hit streak and owns a .251/.300/.397 slash line through 268 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 2:20 pm
