    • Drives in three runs
Conforto went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Conforto opened the scoring with a two-run shot in the second inning and later brought home a run with an RBI groundout in the ninth. It was his first home run since June 26 and just the second over his last 25 appearances. Conforto is slashing .240/.306/.450 with 35 RBI and 26 extra-base hits through 67 games. • Paul Skenes headlines pitchers for N.L. All-Stars
Pirates’ rookie right-hander Paul Skenes was named to his first National League All-Star team on Sunday, despite having logged just 59 1/3 innings at the big-league level.

Advice: It’s the first of what should be many All-Star game nods for the studly 22-year-old hurler who has gone 5-0 with a 2.12 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and a 78/12 K/BB ratio through his first 10 MLB starts. He’ll be joined on the N.L. All-Star squad by fellow pitchers Ranger Suarez, Tyler Glasnow, Shota Imanaga, Reynaldo Lopez, Logan Webb, Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, Ryan Helsley, Tanner Scott, Robert Suarez, Matt Strahm and Jeff Hoffman. • Ezequiel Tovar goes hitless yet again in loss
Ezequiel Tovar remained hitless for the month of July after going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Tovar was the clear choice to serve as the Rockies’ token All-Star a couple of weeks ago, but he’s been brutal of late, going 6-for-50 with one extra-base hit, one RBI, zero runs scored and a 20/0 K/BB in his last 12 games. It’s dropped his OPS from .808 to .734. Ryan McMahon might now be the best bet to be the Rockies’ All-Star, with Cal Quantrill and last year’s All-Star Game MVP Elias Díaz also in the mix. • Conforto hits home run in loss
Michael Conforto went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a loss to the Guardians on Sunday.

Advice: The veteran blasted a 440-foot two-run shot off of Carlos Carrasco and then added an RBI groundout in the ninth inning to get the Giants back to within one run. Conforto started the season hot but then cooled considerably before heating back up again. Over his last 15 games, Conforto is 11-for-29 (.282) with two home runs, 13 RBI, and five runs scored. That keeps him firmly on the radar in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 1:49 pm
    • Set to return from IL on Tuesday
The Giants will reinstate Snell (groin) from the 15-day injured list and have him start Tuesday versus the Blue Jays in San Francisco, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: As he prepares for his first start with the Giants since June following his second IL stint of the season, Snell will be taking the hill on five days' rest. The southpaw endured some bumps in the road in the first of his two rehab outings in his return from a left groin strain, but he was utterly dominant in his final start for Sacramento on Wednesday, tossing five no-hit, shutout innings while striking out nine. He'll tentatively line up for two starts during the upcoming week, with his second outing set to fall next Sunday versus the Twins in the Giants' final game before the All-Star break. • Pirates place Bailey Falter on 15-day injured list
Pirates placed LHP Bailey Falter on the 15-day injured list with left posterior arm discomfort.

Advice: Falter left Saturday’s start against the Mets with discomfort in his arm, and the Pirates won’t have the 27-year-old available until after the All-Star break. He’ll be out with Pittsburgh selecting the contract of Brent Honeywell to take Falter’s place on the roster. Rotoworld Today, 9:36 am

    • Shelved with triceps tendinitis
The Pirates placed Falter on the 15-day injured list Sunday with left triceps tendinitis.

Advice: Falter was pulled during his start in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Mets with what the Pirates initially termed as left posterior arm discomfort, but the team has now settled on a more precise diagnosis for the injury. He'll be ineligible to rejoin the Pirates for at least the next two weeks, and a clearer timeline for his return should emerge once he's cleared to resume throwing. The Pirates could activate Quinn Priester (lat) from the IL during the upcoming week to fill Falter's spot in the rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 9:29 am

    • Snell (groin) likely to start Tuesday vs. Blue Jays
Blake Snell (groin) is likely to start Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Snell will come off the injured list Tuesday after missing over a month with his groin strain. The southpaw was sensational in his last rehab start with five scoreless innings and nine strikeouts, and while he has struggled in his six starts with the Giants thus far with a 9.64 ERA, the 31-year-old’s pedigree and success in the second halves of season are obviously worth considering. • Belts game-winning homer
Semien went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: With the Rangers down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Semien got hold of a Kevin Kelly two-seamer on the inner half of the plate and drove it over the left-field wall for the game-winning hit. The second baseman snapped a 22-game homer drought with the blast, a stretch in which he'd stumbled to a .143/.196/.176 slash line. Semien's current .679 OPS on the season would be his lowest mark since the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, but he's still on pace for his fourth straight campaign with at least 20 home runs and 80 RBI, and the 33-year-old has plenty of time to kick his offense into a higher gear.
