• George Kirby posts quality start in no-decision
George Kirby logged a quality start in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon, giving up three runs on seven hits over his six-plus frames.

Advice: The right-hander racked up eight strikeouts on the day while allowing only one base on balls. The Jays scratched out a run against him in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Alejandro Kirk. Kirby then allowed a pair of singles to start the seventh inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen — and both runs ultimately scored. The 26-year-old hurler got 16 swings and misses on 93 pitches in the contest — 10 of those on his heater — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll look to finish his first half strong as he brings a 3.39 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a 109/11 K/BB ratio (111 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Angels in Los Angeles. • Receiving breather Sunday
Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Contreras started the past 12 games after missing one contest due to a head injury, and he'll take a seat Sunday after he posted a .319/.396/.468 slash line during that stretch. It's just his fourth game out of the lineup this season. Eric Haase will step in behind the plate to catch for veteran lefty Dallas Keuchel. Rotowire.com Today, 12:28 pm
  • Returns to starting nine
Altuve (hand) will start at second base and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Twins.

Advice: For just the fourth time all season, Altuve missed out on a start in Saturday's 9-3 loss while he recovered from a hand contusion stemming from being hit by a pitch in Friday's 13-12 win. The day off was apparently all Altuve needed to heal up from the bruise to his left hand, as he'll take back his usual spot in the field and atop the batting order for the series finale. Altuve had been running hot at the dish prior to sitting out Saturday, slashing .400/.449/.556 with two home runs and three stolen bases over his last 10 games. Rotowire.com Today, 10:16 am

  • Taking seat against lefty Sunday
Cruz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Advice: The shortstop was hit by an Edwin Diaz fastball in the ninth inning Saturday, but there's been no indication Cruz sustained a significant injury from being plunked. Even so, the Pirates will give the lefty-hitting Cruz the afternoon off Sunday while southpaw Sean Manaea takes the hill for the Mets. Jared Triolo will check in at shortstop for Cruz, who had started in each of the previous six games while going 8-for-22 with two home runs, one double, three walks, one stolen base, five RBI and three runs. • Receiving Sunday off
De La Cruz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Advice: De La Cruz started the previous 31 games but will take a breather Sunday after he posted a .222/.258/.421 slash line during that span. Nick Gordon will receive a start in left field while batting seventh in the series finale versus Chicago. Rotowire.com Today, 9:32 am

  • Altuve returns to lineup, Alvarez out vs. Twins
Jose Altuve (hand) is back in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Twins.

Advice: Altuve is in the starting lineup after suffering a bruise on his left hand that kept him out Saturday. That’s good news for the Astros and fantasy managers, but the team will be without Yordan Alvarez (knee) for Sunday’s finale against Minnesota. Altuve will hit leadoff and play second base in his return to the fold. Rotoworld Today, 8:33 am

  • Bryan De La Cruz not in starting lineup Sunday
Bryan De La Cruz is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: De La Cruz gets a break after going 1-for-8 over the first two games of the series against Chicago. He’ll take a break with Nick Gordon playing left field in his absence. Rotoworld Today, 8:03 am

  • Three hits in Saturday's win
Nimmo went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: The multi-hit performance was his third in his last six games, while Nimmo is 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts through 82 contests -- his career high is nine steals, set back in 2018. The 31-year-old has found his groove at the plate, and since the beginning of June he's slashing .312/.400/.560 through 125 plate appearances with six homers, four steals, 23 RBI and 26 runs. • Collects 13th save
Yates pitched a perfect ninth inning Saturday without a strikeout to record his 13th save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: The right-hander needed just 10 pitches to produce two flyballs and a comebacker by Ben Rortvedt that Yates knocked down before calmly throwing out the Tampa Bay backstop. Yates still has yet to blow a save chance this season, and he's been tagged with just one earned run over his last 16 appearances, posting a 0.60 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB through 15 innings over that dominant stretch.
