• Activated and optioned
The Rockies reinstated Rogers (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Advice: Rogers had been in the midst of a rehab assignment with Albuquerque and will remain with the Rockies' top affiliate even though he's made a full recovery from the left rotator cuff strain that resulted in his placement on the IL on June 17. The southpaw had posted a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 9.1 innings over his five appearances out of the Colorado bullpen prior to landing on the IL. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:58 am
  • Rockies take Rogers off IL; option him to Triple-A
Rockies reinstated LHP Josh Rogers off the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Advice: Rogers will continue to pitch in Triple-A, but now not in a rehab role. The 30-year-old was placed on the injured list with a strained left rotator cuff, and probably will see time with the Rockies again before the season comes to a close. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:52 am
  • Keeps rolling with 29th save
Clase earned a save against the Rays on Saturday, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Clase entered in the ninth frame and gave up a one-out single but was able to protect Cleveland's two-run lead. The right-handed closer once again didn't notch a strikeout -- he hasn't punched out a batter in any of his past six appearances -- but that hasn't prevented him from being effective, as he's gone 4-for-4 in save chances during that span. Clase's belied the typical closer profile with a modest 7.9 K/9 on the campaign, but he's been almost untouchable with 29 saves (second most in the majors) in 32 opportunities, a 0.81 ERA and 0.68 WHIP over 44.1 innings. • Clase picks up 29th save against Rays Saturday
Emmanuel Clase tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Clase’s save was his 29th of the season. He leads all American League relievers and trails only Ryan Helsley in saves this year. Clase’s 0.81 ERA only adds to the dominant season he’s having as one of the best relievers in fantasy baseball this year. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:48 pm
  • Cubs recall Daniel Palencia from Triple-A Iowa
Cubs recalled RHP Daniel Palencia from Triple-A Iowa.

Advice: He’ll take the place of Ethan Roberts in the Cubs’ bullpen. Palencia, 24, has posted a troublesome 6.55 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and a 12/8 K/BB ratio over 11 innings in seven appearances with the big-league club this season. He’ll give manager Craig Counsell another option to deploy in the middle innings. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:17 pm
  • Joining Cubs for Game 2
The Cubs recalled Palencia from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Palencia will join the big-league roster ahead of the second half of Saturday's twin bill against the Cardinals. The right-hander has been with Iowa since being activated from the IL on June 3. Ethan Roberts, who pitched two innings in Game 1, was optioned to Iowa in a corresponding move. • Works one inning in rehab debut
Speier (shoulder) fired a scoreless inning in Triple-A Tacoma's loss to Albuquerque on Friday, allowing two hits and a walk without recording a strikeout.

Advice: Speier was also credited with the hold after his 14-pitch frame, which saw him locate half of his offerings for strikes. The left-hander is now slated to move down to the Mariners' ACL team for his next rehab appearance Monday, after which he'll be evaluated for potential activation coming out of the All-Star break. • Lifted after two perfect frames
Crochet didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Pirates, striking out four in two perfect innings.

Advice: White Sox manager Pedro Grifol had indicated Crochet would be on a pitch count for this outing, but the extremely quick hook kept the left-hander from putting together what might have been an exceptional performance -- he fired 22 of 28 pitches for strikes before exiting, including seven swinging strikes. Chicago is focused on Crochet's long-term health, or at least in keeping him healthy until the trade deadline, and the 25-year-old isn't expected to take the mound again until July 23 on the road against the Rangers. • Fans nine in sixth win
Manaea (6-3) picked up the win Friday, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings in a 7-6 victory over the Rockies. He struck out nine.

Advice: The veteran lefty served up two homers, but he did a good job of minimizing the damage on a night when the two teams combined for nine long balls -- the highest single-game total in MLB this season. Manaea has delivered three straight quality starts, giving him six on the year, and he's allowed three runs or fewer in six straight trips to the mound, a stretch in which he's gone 3-0 with a 2.02 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 36:15 K:BB through 35.2 innings.
