• Takes sixth loss Saturday
Civale (2-6) was tagged with the loss against Washington on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Civale threw only 58 of 102 pitches for strikes and handed out four free passes, but he managed to mostly weave out of trouble and finished one out shy of a quality start. Nonetheless, he ended up in the loss column since the Rays' offense gave him only one run of support. Civale has gone 14 straight outings without a victory, and he hasn't pitched well overall with a 5.79 ERA over that span. The right-hander has been better of late, though, giving up two or fewer earned runs while hurling at least five frames in five of his past seven starts. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago
  • Launches homer in loss
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 9-4 loss to the Reds.

Advice: Goldschmidt went hitless in his previous two games, though he's gone 14-for-59 (.237) with four homers and eight RBI over his last 15 contests. The first baseman is up to 11 long balls on the year as his power has slowly returned in June. He's added 33 RBI, 39 runs scored, four stolen bases and 10 doubles while slashing .228/.297/.365 over 79 games this season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:33 pm
  • Lifts fourth homer
Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Lowe has four multi-hit efforts over his last nine games, a span that also includes two of his four homers this year. The first baseman has never displayed elite power, but his .369 slugging percentage for the season is low even by his standard. He's at least been fairly consistent at the plate, batting .262 with 27 RBI, 25 runs scored, two stolen bases and 11 doubles over 62 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 8:18 pm

  • Will Smith drives in three runs in Dodgers victory
Will Smith went 3-for-6 with a double and three RBI on Saturday night as the Dodgers outlasted the Giants in 11 innings.

Advice: Smith beat out an infield single in the fourth inning that drove in a run and knotted the score at five runs apiece. He then delivered the game’s biggest hit in the 11th inning, smacking a two-run double that gave the Dodgers a two-run lead and put them well on their way to victory. With his three-hit night, the 29-year-old backstop is now hitting .269/.339/.466 with 11 homers and 50 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 8:06 pm

  • Lowe has three hits, two-run homer in loss
Nathaniel Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in a loss Saturday to the Orioles.

Advice: Lowe also doubled. The homer was a two-run shot that got the Rangers back in the game to make it a 5-4 score in the sixth. The 28-year-old has not shown a ton of power thus far in 2024, as his .262 average and .348 on-base percentage have been dragged down by just four roundtrippers and a .369 slugging mark over 214 at-bats. • Hit hard Saturday
Valdez allowed six runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Valdez struggled in the second and third innings, but the Astros were able to rally back to help him avoid a loss. Over six outings in June, he allowed 16 runs across 37.2 innings, though 11 of those runs came in two starts. The southpaw is still struggling compared to his usual level of performance with a 4.11 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 68:29 K:BB over 85.1 innings through 14 starts this year. Valdez is projected to make his next start on the road in Toronto. Rotowire.com Today, 6:56 pm
