    • Padres place Yu Darvish on restricted list
Padres placed RHP Yu Darvish on the restricted list.

Advice: Padres’ manager Mike Shildt told reporters on Saturday that Darvish is dealing with a personal matter involving his family but wouldn’t elaborate. It’s not clear how long he’ll be away from the team for. The 37-year-old hurler is battling elbow inflammation in addition to his strained groin. Once he’s back with the club and ready physically, he’s likely to need at least a couple of rehab starts before he’s ready to return to action. Rotoworld Today, 4:29 pm

    • Adley Rutschman hits three-run homer in blowout loss
Adley Rutschman hit a three-run homer in a blowout loss Saturday to the Athletics.

Advice: The Orioles were able to put up an eight-spot, which is usually more than enough to win a game. Baltimore needed another dozen to win this one. Still, Rutschman makes fantasy managers happy with a three-run shot in the seventh inning to make it a 17-4 lead for Oakland. They all count. Rotoworld Today, 4:14 pm
    • Placed on restricted list
The Padres placed Darvish (elbow) on the restricted list Saturday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Darvish has been on the injured list since the beginning of June due to a groin strain and right elbow inflammation, but he will now move to the restricted list as he deals with a personal matter. The Padres didn't provide any information regarding how long the 37-year-old might be away from the team. Rotowire.com Today, 4:05 pm

    • Spencer Steer homers and walks in defeat
Spencer Steer homered and walked in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: Steer swatted a solo shot in the ninth inning, which is good, but it came with the Reds down 5-2, which is bad for Cincinnati and unimportant for fantasy managers. He’s really swung the bat well as of late while vastly improving his still slightly-underwhelming slash of .243/.336/.435. The 13 homers and 13 steals sure have helped, however. • Taj Bradley strikes out five in no-decision
Taj Bradley allowed two runs (one earned) in six innings and got a no-decision against the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Bradley gave up five hits, walked two and struck out five. It was another solid outing for Bradley. He left the game with the Rays leading 3-2, but the bullpen couldn’t hold on to get him the win. Bradley hasn’t allowed more than two runs in his last six starts. He has a 3.23 ERA on the season. The 23-year-old right-hander is set to face the Guardians at home next weekend.

    • Kyle Schwarber (groin) will return on Tuesday
Kyle Schwarber (groin) ran the bases at 100 percent on Saturday without issue and will be activated from the injured list on Tuesday.

Advice: Tuesday had been the target all along for the 31-year-old slugger to return and running at full speed on Saturday was the final hurdle that he needed to clear to meet that goal. With Schwarber back on Tuesday and Bryce Harper (hamstring) expected to follow shortly, the Phillies’ offense is getting an awful lot of left-handed power back next week. Rotoworld Today, 3:02 pm

    • Byron Buxton launches two-run homer in win
Byron Buxton went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored against the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Buxton knocked a base hit to lead off the third inning and scored on a two-run homer by Brooks Lee. He later extended the Twins’ lead with a two-run shot off Rafael Montero in the seventh inning. It was the ninth home run for the 30-year-old outfielder. He’s slashing .271/.324/.485 with 38 runs scored, 37 RBI, and five steals across 250 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:53 pm

    • Kyle Schwarber likely to return on Tuesday
Kyle Schwarber (groin) is scheduled to run the bases on Saturday.

Advice: Schwarber is poised to complete his final step towards returning this weekend and appears a near-lock to return on Tuesday when the Phillies kick off a highly-anticipated series against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Today, 12:45 pm

    • Sets career high in homers
Naylor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Naylor had some dry stretches in June, but he's turned it around by going 9-for-24 (.375) with six RBI over his last six games. The first baseman set a career high with his 21st homer of the year. He's added 64 RBI, 50 runs scored, three stolen bases, 16 doubles and a .246/.323/.505 slash line over 82 contests. He started the year hot before a shaky May and slightly better June, so he could still find another level in the second half. Rotowire.com Today, 10:24 am
