    • Checking back into starting nine
Hamilton (side) will start at shortstop and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Hamilton is back in the lineup after he was withheld from the starting nine Tuesday due to the left side injury he suffered in Monday's 7-3 win in the series opener. Despite opening Tuesday's 4-3 victory on the bench, Hamilton still made an impact with his legs, entering the game as a pinch runner in the eighth inning and contributing a stolen base and a run. With Hamilton checking out fine following his brief cameo Wednesday, he'll get the green light to start the series finale and will occupy a prominent spot in the batting order. • Nursing moderate oblique strain
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Dominguez is dealing with a moderate left oblique strain, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Dominguez was injured on a check swing Saturday while playing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees haven't yet established a timeline for Dominguez's return to game action, but it wouldn't be a surprise if a moderate oblique strain resulted in at least a month-long absence. Dominguez began the season on the Yankees' 60-day injured list as he continued his recovery from Tommy John surgery. He's hit .389/.405/.639 with two home runs in nine games during his time with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • David Hamilton (side) returns to lineup Wednesday
David Hamilton (side) returned to the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Wednesday’s matchup against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Hamilton left Monday’s game with discomfort in his left side, but he was able to appear as a pinch-runner in Tuesday’s game — swiping a pair of bases and scoring a run late in the game. He’s starting at shortstop and batting second against Kevin Gausman and the Jays on Wednesday evening in Toronto. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago
    • Dominguez dealing with moderate oblique strain
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Wednesday that Jasson Dominguez is dealing with a moderate oblique strain.

Advice: While Boone didn’t give any sort of timeline for the top prospect’s return, expect that it’ll be longer than just a couple of weeks. It’s unfortunate, as the dynamic 21-year-old outfielder was crushing it at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and had been on the cusp of breaking through to the big leagues once again. • Ranger Suárez keeps rolling Wednesday vs. Padres
Ranger Suárez gave up one run over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Padres.

Advice: Suárez rolled out his entire five-pitch arsenal on a scorching-hot, 87-degree Wednesday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park, limiting San Diego’s strong lineup to just a second-inning solo shot by rookie Jackson Merrill over six frames of work. He struck out four and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 28-year-old southpaw appears to be on the precipice of his first All-Star game selection as he’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in all but one of his 15 starts so far. He’ll carry a sparkling 1.75 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 95/19 K/BB ratio across 92 1/3 innings (15 starts) into a favorable road tilt on Tuesday against the Tigers. Rotoworld Today, 12:47 pm

    • Early exit in first loss of year
Suarez (3-1) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on six hits and five walks over 3.2 innings as the Orioles were downed 4-2 by the Yankees. He struck out three.

Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander also hit Aaron Judge with a pitch in his worst performance of the season, as Suarez tossed only 49 of 96 pitches for strikes. His control has been slipping since he returned to the rotation in late May -- over his last five starts, Suarez has a 19:13 K:BB in 23 innings despite a superficially strong 2.35 ERA. With Dean Kremer (triceps) closing in on a return and Cade Povich coming off an impressive outing against Atlanta, Suarez could wind up getting bumped to the bullpen once again. He should get at least one more turn in the rotation however, a road start this weekend in Houston. Rotowire.com Today, 7:04 am

    • Dealing with oblique strain
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Dominguez has been diagnosed with a left oblique strain, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Dominguez suffered the injury on a check swing over the weekend while playing at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The severity of the strain isn't known yet, but even a low-grade strain will likely cost the young outfielder multiple weeks of action. Dominguez has hit .389/.405/.639 with two home runs in nine games during his time with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:03 am

    • Enters as pinch runner
Hamilton (side) entered Tuesday's game as a pinch runner, stole a base and scored a run in a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Hamilton was held out of the starting lineup after exiting Monday's game with discomfort in his side. He eventually entered as a pinch runner in the eighth inning and scored the game-winning run after stealing his 19th bag of the season (fifth in MLB). Ten of those 19 steals have come in the last 11 games. Boston manager Alex Cora told Ian Browne of MLB.com there's a good chance Hamilton will return to the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale. Rotowire.com Today, 5:58 am
    • Willi Castro plates three in victory over Rays
Willi Castro doubled twice and finished with three RBI on Tuesday, leading the Twins to a 7-6 victory over the Rays.

Advice: Castro put Minnesota ahead briefly in a topsy-turvy marathon at Target Field with a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning off Rays starter Aaron Civale. He also recorded another double and walked in this one, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances out of the leadoff spot. The 27-year-old has been locked-in at the dish over the last few days, hitting .379 (11-for-29) with one homer and one steal over his last seven games. Rotoworld Today, 3:20 am
