    • Clubs homer in loss
Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday in a loss to the Rays.

Advice: Devers' sixth-inning solo shot brought Boston to within a run, but it ended up being the final tally for either team. The long ball extended the third baseman's on-base streak to nine contests, and he's hitting .270 with two homers, five RBI and five runs over that stretch. On a less positive note, Devers has struck out at least once in 12 straight games, and his 24.1 percent strikeout rate is on pace to be his worst mark since the abbreviated 2020 campaign. • Lowers ERA to 1.37
Suarez (8-0) earned the win over the Mets on Wednesday, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

Advice: Suarez allowed a run in each of the first and third frames, but neither run was earned. The left-hander thus lowered his season ERA to 1.37, third best in the majors among qualified starters. Suarez also leads the league with eight victories and a 0.76 WHIP, and he has yet to take a loss. He's among the early contenders for Cy Young consideration in the National League and has been one of fantasy's most impactful sleepers. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:56 pm
    • Rafael Devers homers in loss to Rays
Rafael Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo shot on Wednesday.

Advice: The home run was Devers’ fifth of the season and cut the Rays’ lead to one run late. He also had a 108.6 MPH groundout in the eighth inning. He’s been his usual, excellent self this season slashing .281/.383/.871 through 32 games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:20 pm

    • Ranger Suárez earns win vs. Mets
Ranger Suárez fought for the win in what was his worst start in weeks. He lasted five innings, walked two, and struck out three in a win over the Mets Wednesday night. Both runs he allowed were unearned.

Advice: This felt more like the Ranger Suárez of old, nibbling around the zone and unable to put many away. He was able to work out of trouble effectively as the Mets had men on base in four out of five innings and could not start a rally. Suárez’s step forward this season should still be seen as legitimate, but keep an eye on his command as he fell behind 1-0 to 16 of the 33 hitters he faced. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:53 pm
    • Drives in four
Contreras went 3-for-5 with a home run, a triple and four total RBI in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Contreras got Milwaukee on the board with a three-run, opposite-field blast off Martin Perez in the third inning before tacking on a fourth RBI with a triple in the sixth, his first three-bagger this season. While Contreras had gone 18 games without a home run, he's now recorded at least one hit in nine straight contests, going 17-for-36 (.472) in that span. The 26-year-old catcher is now slashing a robust .359/.434/.553 with six homers, 34 RBI, 39 runs scored and three stolen bases through 196 plate appearances this season. • Cedric Mullins gets pulled for pinch-hitter
Cedric Mullins, who was dropped to ninth in Baltimore’s lineup, was lifted for a pinch-hitter after opening up 0-for-2 on Wednesday.

Advice: Mullins is 0-for-16 with eight strikeouts in his last five games and 5-for-59 with a 19/4 K/BB in his last 18 games. He was off to fine start before that, but the Orioles seem to have real concerns about the way he’s performing, given that he was just held out of the starting lineup twice against righties over the weekend. He’s down to .183/.234/.349 for the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:14 pm

    • Bryan De La Cruz goes deep, Marlins edge Tigers
Bryan De La Cruz launched a two-run homer on Wednesday, leading the Marlins to a 2-0 victory over the Tigers.

Advice: De La Cruz supplied the lone runs for either side in a low-scoring Wednesday afternoon matinee at Comerica Park courtesy of a gargantuan 422-foot blast to left-center field off Tigers starter Casey Mize in the opening frame. It was his lone hit in four at-bats and his ninth round-tripper of the season. The 27-year-old corner outfielder has put together a nice breakthrough campaign so far for the struggling Marlins, batting .256 (46-for-180) with 25 runs scored, nine homers, 24 RBI and one steal through 45 contests. • William Contreras homers, Brewers demolish Pirates
William Contreras went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI on Wednesday, leading the Brewers to a decisive 10-2 victory over the Pirates.

Advice: Contreras is rapidly evolving into one of the premier four-category contributors in the entire fantasy landscape as his latest three-hit performance, his sixth of the season, raises his batting average to an astronomical .359 mark through 43 contests. The 26-year-old backstop crushed a three-run homer off Pirates southpaw Martín Pérez in the third inning and also added an RBI triple a couple frames later as Milwaukee hit five homers in a blowout victory. He’s up to 39 runs scored and 34 homers already to go along with six homers and three steals as well. There isn’t much left to say at this point besides legitimately asking if he’s going to surpass Orioles superstar Adley Rutschman as the consensus top catcher in fantasy at some point in the future. • CJ Abrams sits against tough lefty
Like the rest of the Nationals’ lefty hitters, CJ Abrams is on the bench for Wednesday’s game against Garrett Crochet and the White Sox.

Advice: It makes for a weird lineup, as Ildemaro Vargas is playing left field and batting third and Rule 5 pick Nasim Nuñez is making just his second start of the year. It’s the first time Abrams has sat since Apr. 8, when he was dealing with hand soreness. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:16 am
