    • Tatis Jr. (femur) ramping up baseball activity
Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports Fernando Tatis Jr. (femur) underwent an MRI that “showed the progress in healing the Padres had hoped for.”

Advice: It’s an extremely important checkpoint that clears Tatis to “continue to incrementally increase his baseball activity.” He’s resumed playing catch and swinging a bat already, so he could move to facing live pitching soon, and then progress to a rehab assignment shortly after that. While that means he still may be weeks away from returning, it’s good to see that he’s making some progress entering the second half. Rotoworld Today, 11:46 am
    • Receives good news from MRI
An MRI this week on Tatis' injured right quadricep showed improved healing, and the outfielder is expected to incrementally increase his baseball activities, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Tatis -- who is recovering from a femoral stress reaction -- has already begun playing catch and swinging a bat. A clearer timetable for Tatis' return from the 10-day injured list is unlikely to be available until he resumes running with no issues, but he certainly looks to be trending in a good direction. • Mason Miller whiffs two in All-Star Game outing
Mason Miller recorded a pair of strikeouts in a scoreless inning during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.

Advice: Miller’s flawless frame also included an eye-popping strikeout of Shohei Ohtani on a nasty 89 mph slider on the heels of a 101.8 mph fastball. He also delivered a sizzling 103.6 mph fastball, the fastest pitch in All-Star Game history in the Statcast era, prior to striking out Trea Turner. Fantasy managers are looking at arguably the best closer in baseball right now. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty talked earlier this week about potentially returning to the starting rotation in the future, which would be a pretty significant development for his fantasy appeal. • Not playing in All-Star Game
Correa (heel) was removed Monday from the American League All-Star Game roster and was replaced by the Rangers' Corey Seager, the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Though Correa is still expected to attend All-Star festivities in Arlington, Texas this week, his removal from the roster comes as little surprise after he missed the Twins' final two games before the break due to plantar fasciitis in his right heel. Dan Hayes of The Athletic relays that Correa's latest case of plantar fasciitis isn't as severe as his bout with the injury to his left foot during 2023 season, but it's not yet clear whether Correa will be back in action when the Twins return to action Saturday versus the Brewers. • Ketel Marte to lead off for NL All-Star squad
Ketel Marte will lead off for Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo in the NL All-Star lineup.

Advice: It’s a defensible choice, though Shohei Ohtani is right there, and Trea Turner and Christian Walker also might have been better options. Marte will be followed by Ohtani, Turner, Bryce Harper, William Contreras, Yelich, Alex Bohm, Teoscar Hernández and Jurickson Profar. Rotoworld Monday, 1:15 pm

    • Nets 16th save
Yates picked up the save Sunday against the Astros, allowing one run on a hit and a walk with no strikeouts across one inning.

Advice: While Yates advanced to 16-for-16 in save opportunities this season, he snapped his streak of eight consecutive scoreless innings. The 37-year-old walked Jon Singleton and yielded a single to Jeremy Pena to start the ninth frame, with Singleton eventually coming around to score on a groundout by Joey Loperfido. The outing bumped Yates' ERA from 0.81 to 1.05, and he has a 0.90 WHIP across 34.1 innings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:21 pm

    • Pulled after three innings
Keller didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: The Pirates opted not to bring Keller out for the fourth inning, providing the 28-year-old with additional rest ahead of the All-Star Break. Keller has thrown 114.1 innings in the first half of the campaign and is on pace to shatter his career highs in starts and innings pitched, so it's possible the Pirates monitor Keller's workload during the back half of 2024. Still, Keller should be a strong fantasy option when on the mound, as he has posted a 3.46 ERA with 105 strikeouts this season while cruising to a 10-5 record. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:19 pm

    • Earns 10th win
Bello (10-5) picked up the win Sunday, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over 6.1 innings against the Royals. He struck out three.

Advice: Bello's day started by allowing a leadoff homer to Adam Frazier, but he was quickly staked to a 4-1 lead and scattered only two additional runs the rest of the way while working into the seventh inning for the second time in three starts and just the third time this season. Bello has alternated good and bad outings recently, with Sunday representing his third quality start in his last six while he has allowed 16 earned runs in the other three appearances while failing to complete five innings twice. Bello places 10th in the majors with 10 wins; however, an ERA of 5.32 with a 1.47 WHIP and 85 strikeouts over 89.2 innings represent disappointing figures for the talented 25-year-old righty. • Reaches 30-steal mark
Turang went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Turang has struggled at the plate in July, going 9-for-48 (.188) over his first 13 games this month. That's also put a damper on his best attribute, his speed, as he's been able to log just two steals on three attempts in that span. Turang has 30 thefts on 35 attempts this year -- good for second in the majors behind only the Reds' Elly De La Cruz -- while adding six home runs, 38 RBI, 45 runs scored and a .277/.341/.390 slash line through 93 contests.
