      CJ Abrams (wrist) is in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Rays.

      Advice: Abrams is back at shortstop and leading off on Saturday after being hit by a pitch twice during Friday’s game -- first on his right arm by an 89 mph cutter in the first inning and then on his left wrist by an 88 mph offering a couple frames later. The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative and the issue didn’t seem to impact the cyst that he’s been dealing with near that left wrist.       Rafaela started at shortstop and went 3-for-4 with a double in Friday's 9-2 loss to San Diego.

      Advice: Rafaela is having a productive June, but he entered the game on a 1-for-18 run. The multi-hit effort was his eighth of the month, and the infielder/outfielder is batting .417 (20-for-48) over the last 13 games. This was his third start at shortstop in as many appearances, as manager Alex Cora adjusts to get his hottest bats in the lineup; Jarren Duran slotted in as the center field while David Hamilton manned second base Friday.       Devers went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 9-2 loss to the Padres.

Merrill's power has emerged as the weather has heated up -- while his 11 homers through 82 games is already good for a 21-year-old in his first MLB campaign, eight of those long balls have come in his last 15 contests, a stretch in which he's batting .309 (17-for-55) with 11 runs and 16 RBI.       Brenton Doyle went 2-for-4 with a homer and a steal versus the White Sox on Friday.

      Advice: Doyle came into the night batting .235/.258/.284 in June and was one more bad game away seeing his OPS drop below .700, so this helps a bunch. He still shouldn’t be batting at the top of the Rockies order right now, but for as long it continues, he’ll be worth playing in mixed leagues, especially when the Rockies are at home.       Doyle went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a steal in Friday's 5-3 loss to the White Sox.

      Advice: The 26-year-old gave Colorado a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning when he launched a 426-foot, two-run homer off Drew Thorpe. Doyle later bagged his team-leading 19th stolen base, marking his fifth straight success since last being caught June 5. Perhaps this performance will spur a hot streak for Doyle , as he entered the game hitting .235 (19-for-81) with just two extra-base hits -- one homer and one double -- across 22 games in June.       Jackson Merrill hit a three-run homer to camp a nine-run fifth as the Padres bested the Red Sox 9-2 on Friday.

      Advice: The Padres were held scoreless until the fifth, when the first nine batters totaled nine runs on eight hits and one walk against Nick Pivetta and Greg Weissert. Merrill concluded the rally with the second homer of the inning. After that, the Padres put their bats back to bed, coming up with just one hit off Chase Anderson in the final four innings. Merrill’s homer was his 11th in 82 games. His current .282/.318/.439 line is a near match for the .277/.326/.444 he came in at least year, only that was compiled in high-A and Double-A.       Rafael Devers homered in a third straight game and walked Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: It’s going to be difficult to leave Devers off the All-Star roster this year; he’s currently fifth in the AL with his .941 OPS. Although Devers has received MVP votes four times in his career, he’s been an All-Star only twice, going in 2021 and ’22. Rotoworld Friday, 7:22 pm

      CJ Abrams checked out fine after being hit in the left hand/wrist area by a pitch during Friday’s loss to the Rays.
