    • Masyn Winn not in lineup Friday
Masyn Winn is not in the lineup for the Cardinals’ game against the Phillies on Friday.

Advice: Winn is riding an 18-game hitting streak, but finds himself on the bench to begin Friday’s game. Brandon Crawford will start against Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola. Winn is hitting .308 with two home runs with 49 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:24 am
    • Getting breather Friday
Winn is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Philadelphia.

Advice: Winn is riding an 18-game hit streak, but he will be given a day of rest as the Cardinals open a weekend series against the Phillies. Brandon Crawford will handle shortstop duties. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:10 am
    • Records 15th save
Finnegan picked up the save in a win over Atlanta on Thursday, pitching a scoreless ninth inning while striking out one and issuing a walk.

Advice: Finnegan entered the game with a two-run lead in the ninth and issued a leadoff walk to Ozzie Albies to put himself in an early jam. However, the right-handed reliever was able to retire the next three batters in succession to notch his 15th save of the season. Finnegan now has three scoreless appearances since blowing the save against the Phillies on May 18, posting a 5:1 K:BB over that stretch. He currently has six saves this month to go along with a 0.93 ERA. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:54 am
    • Finnegan picks up save against Atlanta on Thursday
Kyle Finnegan fired a scoreless ninth inning to pick up a save Thursday versus Atlanta.

Advice: That’s already the 15th save for Finnegan, who is currently on-pace to procure over 40 of them in 2024. Impressive regardless, but especially when you see the Nationals have only won 26 games. The 32-year-old right-hander also has a 1.64 ERA, so it’s fair to say he’s pitched well in those chances. Finnegan and Hunter Harvey form one of the best end-of-game combinations in the sport. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:00 pm
    • Two hits, stolen base in loss
Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Alvarez recorded a base hit in the top of the fourth before coming around to score Houston's only run of the contest on an RBI single from Jake Meyers. The outfielder would add another single in his next at-bat, giving him back-to-back multi-hit games, while also going on to swipe a bag for the second game in a row. Alvarez has now posted 10 multi-hit games this month and has nine extra-base hits in the stretch. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:22 am

    • Braves place A.J. Minter on IL
Braves placed LHP A.J. Minter on the 15-day IL with left hip inflammation.

Advice: Minter struggled at the beginning of the month but is coming off five straight scoreless appearances to lower his season-long ERA to 2.95. There is no indication yet how long Minter will be sidelined, but the Braves will likely turn to Aaron Bummer as their main lefty out of the bullpen in the meantime. Righty Jimmy Herget was called up in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:38 am

    • Out with hip injury
Atlanta placed Minter on the 15-day injured list Thursday with left hip inflammation.

Advice: Minter tossed a scoreless inning in Wednesday's win over the Nationals but evidently must have injured his hip during the appearance. The left-hander will be eligible to return from the IL on June 14, although it's not yet clear whether he will be ready for activation at that time. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:25 am

    • Another day, another homer
Seager went 1-for-3 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Seager, whom the Diamondbacks chose to issue an intentional walk with runners on in the third inning, didn't get a free pass in the fifth inning and paid for it. He got a hold of a first-pitch cutter and sent it over the fence in right field. It was his eighth home run over the last eight games and extended a hit streak to 12 contests. • Improves to 6-0 in May
Gil (7-1) picked up the win Wednesday over the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out nine over eight frames.

Advice: Gil continued his fantastic start to the campaign Wednesday, allowing just one hit over the first six innings before surrendering a solo home run to Logan O'Hoppe in the seventh. The right-hander produced 15 whiffs on the night while posting at least eight strikeouts for the third consecutive outing. Gil has now logged six quality starts in a row and improved to 6-0 in May after the win over Los Angeles. Over that stretch, he carries a ridiculous 0.70 ERA to go along with a 44:12 K:BB. Wednesday also marked his longest outing of the season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 4:10 am
