    • Nick Lodolo efficient in win over Cubs
Nick Lodolo allowed two runs on seven hits in a win over the Cubs on Sunday.

Advice: Lodolo struck out three and walked one on the day. Nothing he gave up was hit overly hard, but he also didn’t miss many bats either with just eight whiffs on 42 swings for a 19 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. Still, he survived a solid Cubs offense and now has a 3.11 ERA heading into a rematch in Cincinnati next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:25 pm

    • Moving into reserve role
Cabrera is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Since DJ LeMahieu returned from the injured list Tuesday to make his season debut, Cabrera has unsurprisingly been the odd man out of the New York lineup more often than not. He's made just two starts in the six games since LeMahieu's return and appears set to fill a utility role moving forward after holding down the fort at third base for much of the past two months. • Receiving Sunday off
Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Smith started the previous five games and will receive the day off for Sunday's series finale versus Colorado. Austin Barnes will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Gavin Stone. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:53 am

    • Will Smith gets Sunday off again vs. Rockies
Will Smith is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Smith almost always gets Sunday off, and this won’t be an exception. The 29-year-old slugger will take a break with Austin Barnes behind the plate for the series finale. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:55 am

    • Homers in return
Westburg went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Rays.

Advice: Westburg was out of the lineup for two games with a hand injury, but it didn't seem to be bothering him in Saturday's win. He's gone 10-for-22 (.455) with two homers and seven RBI over his last six games, posting three multi-hit efforts in that span. The infielder continues to hit well despite often being in the bottom half of the order. He's slashing .295/.354/.523 with nine homers, 36 RBI, 30 runs scored, five stolen bases, 11 doubles and three triples over 52 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:16 am

    • Good to go Sunday
Gurriel (illness) will start in left field and bat third Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: The veteran outfielder was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to flu-like symptoms, but he's back in the starting nine for Sunday's series finale in Queens. Gurriel had a rough time at the plate in May and finished the month with a .213/.245/.287 slash line in 25 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:48 am
    • Moves down in order vs. lefty
Friedl batted seventh and went 0-for-1 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Cubs. He was also hit by a pitch.

Advice: Friedl, who had batted leadoff since returning from a thumb injury Wednesday, was lowered to seventh in the order Saturday. That's due to the Reds facing a left-hander for the first time since his return. Friedl is 1-for-9 with four walks, one steal and one run scored since being activated off the injured list. • Powers offense with two homers
Mountcastle went 2-for-3 with a walk, two home runs, four RBI and a third run scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Rays.

Advice: The O's launched four homers in total off Taj Bradley, and Mountcastle bookended the barrage with long balls in the first and fourth innings. The power display snapped a 17-game homer drought for the 27-year-old, but Mountcastle hasn't been slumping -- over his last 10 games he's batting .459 (17-for-37) with five doubles and five multi-hit performances. That surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .293/.333/.505 with eight home runs and 24 RBI in 51 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:39 am
    • X-rays come back clean
Ginkel is day-to-day after X-rays on his left knee came back negative following Saturday's 10-5 win over the Mets, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports Saturday.

Advice: Ginkel took a 98.3 mile-per-hour comebacker to the inside of his left knee during his relief appearance in the sixth inning and was immediately lifted from the contest. Fortunately for Ginkel, he seems to be dealing with nothing more than bruising to his leg, and he disclosed after the game that he's already feeling better. Manager Torey Lovullo expressed optimism that Ginkel could be available out of the bullpen as soon as Sunday's series finale with the Mets, though the Diamondbacks may prefer to stay away from him for another day or two to afford him additional healing time.
