The shortstop has hit safely in 14 of his last 15 contests as he continues to provide all-around excellence from the top of the Orioles' lineup.       Houck (7-5) earned the win against the Phillies on Thursday, allowing three runs on eight hits and no walks with five strikeouts over six innings.

      Advice: Houck tossed three scoreless innings then loaded the bases and surrendered a three-run double to Kyle Schwarber in a rough fourth. He rebounded with two more scoreless frames to earn his fifth straight quality start and received plenty of offensive support, as the Red Sox tagged Aaron Nola for eight runs. Houck has now allowed three or fewer earned runs in 13 of 14 starts and has been one of baseball's biggest breakouts so far in 2024.       Tanner Houck allowed three runs in six innings and got the win in the Red Sox’ 9-3 victory over the Phillies on Thursday.

Houck has allowed more than three earned runs in a start only once in 14 starts this year. His ERA is now 2.08 on the season. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays on the road next week.

      Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win against the Pirates.

      Advice: He plated the first runs of the game, taking Mitch Keller deep in the third inning. With the long ball Goldschmidt snapped a 14-game homerless drought. The veteran now has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games, but he still has just five RBI over his last 15 contests.       Advice: Cortes turned in his best start in weeks, but he was still in line for the loss when he left. The Yankees offense did let him off the hook, but the Bombers still lost the game to fall to 6-9 in Cortes’s starts.
