• Ryan Bliss collects first MLB homer in loss to KC
Ryan Bliss hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Bliss absolutely clobbered a Daniel Lynch IV offering to left field in the first inning to give Seattle a 7-0 lead and Bliss his first ever MLB homer. The 24-year-old has hit just .188 thus far in the majors, but his .350 on-base percentage does show that he has been more than willing to reach via walk. There is some potential long-term fantasy upside in his right-handed bat. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:09 pm

  • Brayan Rocchio hits first major league homer
Brayan Rocchio supplied both Guardians runs with his first big-league homeer Friday in a loss to the Marlins.

Advice: The homer came in his 276th career plate appearance. He has 192 so far this year, and he’s driven in a total of 11 runs. On the plus side, his defensive numbers have improved in recent weeks, and thanks to a fine 12% walk ate, his .314 OBP isn’t dreadful. Still, it’s hard to see where the fantasy upside might come from here. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
  • Correa has two more hits Friday
Carlos Correa went 2-for-3 against the Pirates on Friday.

Advice: It was a quiet night for the Twins offense as they were shutout by Mitch Keller and the Pittsburgh bullpen. Correa added two more hits to his ledger. He also hit second in the order, which is the spot ahead of Royce Lewis. Correa is no longer a star or even an All-Star, but he’s quietly having a nice season as long as he can continue to stay healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:22 pm

  • Pirates optioned Liover Peguero to Triple-A
Pirates optioned INF Liover Peguero to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Peguero was recalled earlier this week with Michael A. Taylor going on the paternity list. Now that Taylor is back, Peguero is on his way back to Triple-A. The 23-year-old infielder could be a bench option again at some point for the Pirates. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:35 pm

  • On bench Friday
Newman is out of the lineup for Friday's game against San Diego.

Advice: The 30-year-old will yield to Blaze Alexander on Friday despite Newman's current six-game hit streak. On the year, Newman is slashing .260/.294/.377 with a 14.8 percent strikeout rate in 155 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:31 pm

  • Marlins place Tim Anderson on bereavement list
Marlins placed SS Tim Anderson on the bereavement list.

Advice: Anderson has struggled mightily this season. He’s hitting .188 with no home runs in 165 at-bats with Miami this year. He’ll be out for a few games now that he’s on the bereavement list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:28 pm

  • Sent to Triple-A
Peguero was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.

Advice: The 23-year-old was called up by Pittsburgh on Tuesday and will return to Indianapolis without appearing in a big-league game. Peguero has a .272/.341/.378 slash line with two homers, 34 RBI, 32 runs and five steals in 51 games at Triple-A this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:02 pm
