  • Jose Iglesias (knee) out again Tuesday night
Jose Iglesias (knee) remained out of the Tigers' lineup Tuesday.

  • Rendon plays three innings in simulated game
Anthony Rendon (knee, oblique) played three innings Tuesday in a simulated game.

Advice: Rendon even stole third base at one point in the game, which manager Matt Williams took as a sign that he's finally "uninhibited" by his oblique and knee injuries. Rendon should be ready to make his 2015 debut late next week if he's able to avoid further setbacks. The 24-year-old hit .287/.357/.473 with 21 home runs, 17 stolen bases, and 111 runs scored in 153 games last season for Washington. Rotoworld.com

  • Casey McGehee accepts assignment to AAA
Giants optioned 3B Casey McGehee to Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: McGehee was designated for assignment by the Giants on Sunday and had the option to become a free agent, but he would have been forfeiting what's left of his $4.8 million salary for 2015. He had an option left, so the 32-year-old third baseman will remain on the Giants' 40-man roster. McGehee will try to work his way back to San Francisco with a strong showing at the Triple-A level. • Braves could still have interest in Uribe
Mark Bowman of MLB.com writes that the Braves could still have interest in acquiring Juan Uribe from the Dodgers, even after the Alberto Callaspo deal fell through.

Advice: Callaspo chose to reject a trade to the Dodgers, as was his right as a player who signed a free agent contract over the winter. However, the Braves clearly like Uribe and there still might be momentum to get a deal done. The 36-year-old has taken on a diminished role with the Dodgers of late. Rotoworld.com

  • Alberto Callaspo rejects trade to Dodgers
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that Alberto Callaspo has rejected a trade to the Dodgers.

Advice: Juan Uribe and others would have been sent to the Braves in the proposed deal. However, Callaspo has the ability to veto a trade until June 15 since he signed with the Braves as a free agent over the winter. He ultimately chose to use that right. Callaspo figures to be designated for assignment when Chris Johnson comes off the DL later this week and he'll be able to sign with any team at the major league minimum once he hits free agency. • Uribe/Callaspo trade talks have lost traction
Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports that the potential Juan Uribe/Alberto Callaspo swap between the Dodgers and Braves has "lost traction."

Advice: FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal wrote that the deal on the table had Uribe and a minor leaguer going to the Braves for Callaspo and three minor leaguers, but Bowman now hears that nothing is imminent. It's unclear why talks have hit a snag, but Callaspo has the ability to veto a trade until June 15 since he signed as a free agent over the winter. Rotoworld.com

  • Dodgers, Braves talking Uribe/Callaspo deal
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Dodgers are talking to the Braves about a deal involving Juan Uribe and Alberto Callaspo.

Advice: No specifics yet, but Uribe and a minor leaguer would go to the Braves for Callaspo and three minor leaguers. Rosenthal hears from one source that the deal was close to being completed as of Monday night, which explains why Callaspo was a late-scratch from the Braves' lineup. Callaspo doesn't have much value to the Dodgers, but moving Uribe would officially clear the way for Alex Guerrero, Justin Turner, and Scott Van Slyke to take on more pronounced roles. Uribe, 36, is batting just .247/.287/.309 with one home run and six RBI through 87 plate appearances this season and is making $6.5 million. Because Callaspo signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Braves as a free agent over the winter, he has the ability to veto any trade until June 15. Rotoworld.com

  • Braves trying to trade Alberto Callaspo
Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez revealed after Monday's game that Alberto Callaspo was scratched because the club is in the process of trying to trade him.

Advice: There had been speculation that he could be designated for assignment, but evidently the Braves might find a taker for him. They'll surely have to eat a good portion of what remains of Callaspo's $3 million salary for this season. • Pablo Sandoval continues to struggle vs. LHP
Pablo Sandoval went 0-for-3 against J.A. Happ on Friday to fall to 2-for-37 against left-handers this season.

Advice: Sandoval has killed righties, but he's looked positively helpless batting right-handed. Considering that he was bad last year, too, it's about time he considers joining the club, which already boasts Shane Victorino and Daniel Nava as members, and giving up switch-hitting. The Red Sox don't really have an alternative for him against lefties; Sandoval's backup, Brock Holt, is a left-handed hitter. Rotoworld.com

  • Moustakas has four-hit night vs. Yankees
Mike Moustakas was 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored Friday against the Yankees.

Advice: Moustakas had a single, two doubles, and a triple. His double in the seventh inning was very close to being a home run, which would have given him the cycle. Still, it was a fantastic night for the 26-year-old, who is batting .333/.392/.496 on the year and has embraced hitting to the opposite field. Rotoworld.com
