    Hill went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Orioles.

    Advice: Hill briefly put the Rangers ahead 2-1 when he took Cade Povich deep in the fifth inning. Hill has hit safely in each of his three games since he was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock, though he's also struck out four times over 10 plate appearances in that span.     Advice: Garcia's blast got the Rangers within a run in the eighth inning, but they failed to tie the game. The outfielder has hit safely in eight of the last nine games, going 10-for-35 (.286) with three homers and four RBI in that span.     Advice: Lorenzen gave up a solo home run to Anthony Santander and a grand slam to Heston Kjerstad. This outing ended a few impressive stretches for Lorenzen -- it was the first time in nine starts he's allowed more than three runs, and it was the first time in his last four appearances that he's issued multiple walks. Given his success this year, to the tune of a 3.40 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 58:35 K:BB over 82 innings across 14 starts, it's safe to assume this was just a poor start against a tough opponent.     Jorge Soler went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and an RBI as the Giants fell to the Dodgers in extra innings on Saturday evening in San Francisco.

    Advice: Soler led off the home half of the first inning with a double off of Tyler Glasnow, then scored the team’s first run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Heliot Ramos. Soler also drove in a run of his own with an RBI double off of Glasnow in the third inning, tying the game at 2-2. Perhaps staying in the leadoff spot is the way to get him going. The incredible surge has him up to 22 homers, 55 RBI, 46 runs scored, 14 doubles and no stolen bases through 78 games this season, though he's still batting a middling .233 despite his .813 OPS.     Advice: Kjerstad's slam came in the fifth inning to give the Orioles a 5-2 lead. It was the first grand slam of his career, and he's now homered in his last two games, both coming against Texas. The 25-year-old prospect has added seven RBI, three runs scored, no stolen bases and a 5:8 BB:K across 33 plate appearances this season. The left-handed-hitting Kjerstad has gotten looks in both corner outfielder spots as well as at designated hitter, and he's poised to compete with Colton Cowser for playing time while Austin Hays is battling knee soreness.     Advice: Santander hit his 22nd homer of the season with a solo shot off Michael Lorenzen in the second. The 29-year-old outfielder doubled in a run in the seventh to extend the Baltimore lead to 6-4 and also gave Santander 55 RBI on the season.   • Heston Kjerstad hits grand slam in win over TEX
    Heston Kjerstad hit a grand slam to help the Orioles to a 6-5 win over the Rangers on Saturday.

    Advice: Kjerstad also walked twice, but you don’t want to hear about that. The rookie outfielder shellacked a Michael Lorenzen offering with the bases loaded to turn a 2-1 Texas lead into a 5-2 Baltimore cushion. The 25-year-old has gone deep twice in his limited time with the Orioles, and 18 times when combined with his outstanding run with Triple-A Norfolk.
