• Throws bullpen session
Merryweather (ribs) threw a 26-pitch bullpen session Friday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Merryweather has been on the shelf since early April due to a rib stress fracture and has finally progressed to mound work. While he's moving in the right direction, the reliever would seem to still be several weeks away from a potential return. Rotowire.com Today, 8:28 am
  • Saddled with second loss
Alexander (0-2) took the extra-inning loss against the Twins on Friday, allowing an unearned run on a hit and an intentional walk without recording an out.

Advice: Alexander's lighting-quick outing resulted in the culmination of the Twins' comeback from a pair of deficits, with the southpaw intentionally putting Carlos Correa on and then conceding a walk-off RBI single on his first pitch to Max Kepler that plated automatic runner Austin Martin. Alexander has now allowed a run in three straight appearances and taken his first two losses of the season in consecutive outings, so it remains to be seen if he'll be kept out of high-leverage situations for the time being as he tries to get back on track. • Throws off mound
Kilian (shoulder) threw a 32-pitch bullpen session Friday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: It would appear to be the first time he's thrown off a mound since he was diagnosed in early March with a teres major strain in his right shoulder. Kilian -- who is on the 60-day injured list -- figures to need a lengthy rehab assignment once he's deemed ready and isn't a given to be added to the big-league roster once he's off the IL. • Undergoing knee surgery
Uribe will undergo surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Uribe landed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Nashville last week with the knee issue and the decision has been made to go under the knife. Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said the extent of the damage won't be known until the surgery is performed, but "it could just be a light cleanup." The hope is that Uribe will be able to return later this season, but more will be known following the operation. Rotowire.com Today, 8:11 am

  • Kyle Bradish exits Friday with elbow discomfort
Kyle Bradish was removed from Friday’s start against the Phillies with right elbow discomfort.

Advice: Not good. Bradish is slated to undergo further testing after lasting just five innings on Friday night before exiting after just 74 pitches. He was spotted shaking his elbow throughout the contest on a night where his velocity was up significantly from previous levels. The biggest concern here for fantasy managers is that the 27-year-old righty is roughly six weeks removed from returning from a UCL sprain in his right elbow that caused him to miss all of spring training and the opening month of the season. There should be an update on his status in the coming days and it seems highly likely that he could wind up requiring another trip to the injured list. We’ll have updates on the developing situation as they unfold. Rotoworld Today, 5:58 am

  • Kyle Bradish solid across five innings
Kyle Bradish allowed two earned runs via solo homers in five innings on Friday in a loss to the Phillies. He struck out four and walked one.

Advice: Bradish hadn’t given up a home run all season before Friday, but the Phillies put two in the seats for their only two runs. Still, Bradish was mostly in control with a heavy diet of sinkers to supplement his excellent slider and curveball. He left the game with 74 pitches one inning shy of qualifying for a quality start. • Dealing with elbow problems
Bradish reported having issues with his right elbow after the fifth inning of Friday's game against the Phillies, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Manager Brandon Hyde said after the game that Bradish will undergo tests on his elbow to determine the cause of the issue. The 27-year-old missed the first month of the season after suffering a UCL sprain during spring training, so it makes sense why the Orioles are being cautious with him. He's lined up to pitch again next Friday against the Astros, but his chances of making his next start will likely depend on the results of his tests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:46 pm

  • Rough Marlins debut
Anderson (0-1) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in two innings. He struck out one.

Advice: Anderson held the Nats scoreless through his first two innings before unraveling in the third, where he allowed seven straight hits without recording an out. While it certainly wasn't an inspiring debut in Miami for Anderson, the 29-year-old right-hander could get another shot in the rotation with Edward Cabrera (shoulder), Ryan Weathers (finger) and Sixto Sanchez (shoulder) all on the IL. • Shaun Anderson roughed up in Marlins debut
Shaun Anderson allowed seven earned runs and 10 hits across just two-plus innings in a loss on Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: The Nationals jumped all over Anderson in the third inning with seven straight hits and 12 batters coming to the plate in total. This was Anderson’s first start in the major league since 2019 and he may have a chance to stick in the Marlins’ rotation as they’re strapped for depth despite the awful start.
