• Dane Dunning chased in fourth inning
Dane Dunning allowed three earned runs in 3 ⅓ innings on Wednesday against the Phillies. He struck out four and walked one in a loss.

Advice: Dunning’s first start back off the IL was not great. He allowed a pair of unearned runs early after an error by Nathaniel Lowe and then a throwing error of his own. Then JT Realmuto tagged him for a solo home run before Edmundo Sosa smacked a three-run shot after Dunning let two men on and was pulled. While a surprising source of strikeouts so far, Dunning has allowed plenty of hard contact and is walking more batters than he did last season. He’ll look to get right next Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

  • Taijuan Walker unable to hang on for win
Taijuan Walker was chased by the Rangers after 4 ⅔ innings. He allowed three earned runs, walked four, and struck out five in a no-decision.

Advice: It’s frustrating to see Walker fall one out short of earning a victory, but he labored through this start and left with the tying run at the plate before the Phillies broke it open. This version of Walker doesn’t miss many bats and he’s earned every bit of his 5.06 ERA. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Shifts rehab to Triple-A
The Rangers transferred Burke's (hand) rehab assignment from the rookie-level Arizona Complex League to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.

Advice: Burke struck out four over two scoreless innings between a pair of appearances in the ACL. He'll likely stick around with Round Rock for at least the next two weeks, as he's not eligible to return from the 60-day injured list until mid-June. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago

  • Comes up short in first loss
Skubal (6-1) took the loss Wednesday as the Tigers were downed 8-3 by the Royals, giving up four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.

Advice: In a matchup of elite southpaws, Skubal wasn't able to keep pace with Cole Ragans and failed to complete six innings for only the second time this season in 10 starts, while tying his season high in runs allowed. Skubal also served up a solo shot to Nelson Velazquez in the fourth inning, just the fourth homer off him in 60 innings. Skubal will take a 2.25 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 72:10 K:BB into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Pirates. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Quality start in Wednesday's loss
Brown (1-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks over six innings in a 2-1 loss to the Angels. He struck out three.

Advice: The right-hander put together arguably his best start of the season and made only one real mistake, but a fifth-inning sinker got too much of the plate and Kyren Paris drove it out of the park to left-center field for a two-run homer. It was only Brown's second quality start of the year, and he's served up nine home runs in just 43.1 innings, fueling a 7.06 ERA. With Ronel Blanco (suspension) rejoining the rotation this weekend and Jose Urquidy (forearm) likely not far behind in his return, it's not clear when Brown might make his next trip to the mound. • Light workload in first rehab outing
Rodriguez (back) allowed an unearned run on one hit and one walk while retiring one batter in his rehab appearance for Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Advice: Rodriguez tossed 16 pitches in the outing, his first at any level since the Blue Jays placed him on the 15-day injured list April 30 with thoracic spine inflammation. Per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com, Rodriguez is scheduled to cover two innings and toss around 30-to-35 pitches in his next rehab appearance later this week, which could be his last before he makes his return from the IL. • Cole Ragans strikes out 12 in win over Tigers
Cole Ragans recorded 12 strikeouts over six scoreless innings on Wednesday in a win over the Tigers.

Advice: Ragans held up his end of the bargain in a highly-anticipated matchup against Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, limiting Detroit’s offense to just one hit and three walks over six shutout frames. The 26-year-old emerging ace generated 15 swinging strikes and a near-elite 35 percent CSW, finishing with a season-high 12 punchouts. He’ll carry a solid 3.34 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 76/21 K/BB ratio across 62 innings (11 starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the division-rival Twins. Rotoworld Today, 2:38 pm

  • Tarik Skubal allows four runs in loss to Royals
Tarik Skubal allowed four runs over five innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Royals.

Advice: Fantasy managers were expecting a throwback pitcher’s duel in this one, but Skubal got in trouble right away on Wednesday afternoon as Kansas City struck for a pair of runs in the second inning before Nelson Velázquez took him deep for a fourth-inning solo shot. He finished with six strikeouts and only handed out a pair of free passes. He’ll bring a stellar 2.25 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 72/10 K/BB ratio across 60 innings (10 starts) into a favorable home matchup on Tuesday against the Pirates. Rotoworld Today, 2:38 pm

  • Hunter Brown takes loss after quality start
Hunter Brown took a tough loss after allowing two runs and two hits in six innings Wednesday against the Angels.

Advice: Brown did his part in delivering just his second quality start of the year, but the Astros offense didn’t show up today. Brown is now 1-5 with a 7.06 ERA, and he might spend more time in the bullpen with Ronel Blanco set to return from suspension. Rotoworld Today, 2:21 pm
