    • Strikes out eight Wednesday
Turnbull didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Cincinnati, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: It was another strong effort from Turnbull, who set a season-high with eight strikeouts while allowing just one run on a Will Benson solo homer in the third inning. Turnbull has been exceptional to start the year, going 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB through 27 innings. Still, with Taijuan Walker (shoulder) returning from the IL, Turnbull will head to the bullpen in an effort to manage his innings. The right-hander figures to be first in line should the Phillies need help in the rotation later this season. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago
    • Drops rematch with Red Sox
Carrasco (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against Boston, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four.

Advice: After picking up a win against the Red Sox in his last outing, Carrasco had a far more difficult time Wednesday, giving up his first three home runs of the season en route to an eventual 8-0 defeat. The 37-year-old Carrasco hadn't allowed more than three earned runs in a start this year prior to Wednesday's loss. His ERA is now up to 4.63 with a 1.63 WHIP and 20:13 K:BB through his first five starts (23.1 innings). Carrasco will look to get back on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for next Tuesday in Houston. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago

    • Ha-Seong Kim drives in two runs against Rockies
Ha-Seong Kim went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Wednesday in a 5-2 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Kim put the Padres on the board early with a two-run double in the first inning. He’d come around to score on a base hit as San Diego put four runs up in the opening frame. He added a base hit in the sixth for his second hit of the game. The 28-year-old infielder is slashing .240/.345/.417 with three homers, 16 runs scored, 15 RBI, and seven steals across 114 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 8:12 pm

    • All Rise: Aaron Judge homers in win over A’s
Aaron Judge went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer on Wednesday, powering the Yankees to a decisive 7-3 victory over the Athletics.

Advice: Judge’s ongoing struggles at the dish haven’t gone unnoticed by fantasy managers, but he managed to put together a couple solid at-bats in this one, taking Athletics starter Joe Boyle deep for a two-run shot in the opening frame. It was his fourth round-tripper of the season and first time leaving the yard since April 14. The 31-year-old fantasy superstar is going to emerge from his ice-cold start at some point, it’s just a matter of time. Rotoworld Today, 6:56 pm

    • Crikey: Dodgers tag Irvin for six runs in loss
Jake Irvin was torched for a season-high six runs over 4 2/3 innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Irvin was unable to flummox the Dodgers’ star-studded lineup for the second straight start, getting tagged for a staggering 12 hits over 4 2/3 frames, after spinning six shutout frames last week out in Los Angeles. Amazingly, none of the dozen hits wound up leaving the yard, but it was enough to saddle him with a loss in a one-sided affair. He struck out three and only issued one walk. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.55 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 23/7 K/BB ratio across 27 2/3 innings (five starts) into a favorable matchup on Monday against the Marlins. It’s a nice spot for streaming purposes, which gives him some appeal for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 6:36 pm

    • Carlos Carrasco tagged for three homers by Red Sox
Carlos Carrasco surrendered five runs and nine hits in five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Carrasco gave up three homers, none of them cheapies. Unfortunately, there’s probably not much to be done here, as Carrasco is averaging barely over 90 mph with his fastball. That’s down two mph from last year and about four mph from his prime. He’ll keep doing his best — and his 4.63 ERA in five starts isn’t exactly bad — but he has very little upside as is. • Out with Grade 2 adductor strain
Giants manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday that Snell could spend more than the minimum 15 days on the injured list after being diagnosed with a moderate left adductor strain, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Snell first felt the injury during a recent bullpen session and still was in discomfort when he attempted to throw again, necessitating a move to the IL on Wednesday. After Snell was scratched ahead of his scheduled start, the Giants tabbed Ryan Walker to open Wednesday's contest, with Mitch White being a candidate to cover multiple innings once Walker exits the contest. Melvin didn't provide details on how the Giants plan to fill Snell's spot in the rotation for what will be a multi-week absence. Rotowire.com Today, 11:57 am

    • Giants place Blake Snell (adductor) on 15-day IL
Giants placed Blake Snell on the 15-day injured list with a left adductor strain.

Advice: Brutal. The reigning NL Cy Young will be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks after being one of the big names in the free agent market this offseason. In his three starts with the Giants, Snell is 0-3 with a 11.57 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and a 12/5 K/BB ratio. The 31-year-old southpaw hasn’t always had his best stuff at the beginning of the season, but hitting the injured list after he signed a two-year, $62 million contract is disaster for a Giants team that came into the season riddled with injuries to their pitching staff. • Takes seat versus lefty
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: The lefty-hitting O'Hearn will retreat to the bench while southpaw Tyler Anderson toes the rubber for the Angels. O'Hearn's absence clears up the designated-hitter spot for Adley Rutschman, allowing Rutschman to get a day out of the field while James McCann handles catching duties for Baltimore.
