      Corey Seager homered for the third consecutive contest on Wednesday, and eighth time over his last eight games, powering the Rangers to a 6-1 victory over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Seager remained sizzling-hot at the dish on Wednesday afternoon at Globe Life Field in a rematch of last year’s Fall Classic, taking Arizona starter Ryne Nelson out to right field in the fifth inning for a two-run blast. It was his 13th round-tripper of the season and lone hit in three at-bats in this one, although he did manage to draw a free pass as well. The 30-year-old fantasy superstar has gone deep a whopping eight times over his last eight games since May 19. He’s raised his full-season OPS from .681 to .828 during that span. Unreal. He did have some bad luck in the fifth; Wenceel Pérez hit what should have been an inning-ending double play ball to second, but Nick Gonzales went for the tag on Jake Rogers and had the ball jarred loose, resulting in no outs.       Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Jung (wrist) "looks great" after resuming hitting, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

      Advice: Jung was cleared to hit Tuesday following a visit with the doctor that performed the surgery on his right wrist in early April. He hit for a second straight day Wednesday while using a lighter bat, with Bochy saying afterward that "you'd think he was going to be ready in a couple of days" based on how he looked. Jung is not going to be ready to return soon, of course, but this is an encouraging progress report. A clearer timetable for the third baseman could be established in the coming days.       Advice: Baty was in the lineup for three of the last four games with the Mets facing four right-handed starting pitchers, but he'll give way to the righty-hitting Mark Vientos on Wednesday while southpaw James Paxton takes the hill for the Dodgers. Vientos should continue to regularly replace the lefty-hitting Baty when the Mets face lefties, but the distribution of starts at third base between the two against right-handed pitching still looks to be up in the air. Baty has helped his cause by getting on base five times in 12 plate appearances over his last three starts, but Vientos owns a 1.085 OPS since his May 15 call-up from Triple-A Syracuse to keep himself in the mix for starts against righties.
