    • George Springer is back to 5th in Blue Jays lineup
George Springer is moving back up the Blue Jays lineup, starting in right field and batting 5th against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Springer started the season as the lead-off hitter and was moved down as far as eighth in the order as he struggled to start the year. The veteran is now 11-for-40 (.275) over his last 12 games with two home runs, five RBI, and ten runs scored. There were no major red flags in his profile at the start of the season, so it seems likely that Springer can work his way back up to the top of the lineup. At 34 years old, he may be in the downward stage of his career, but he should retain enough value to be rostered in all formats. Rotoworld Today, 7:47 am

    • Cowser starts in CF over Mullins again for Orioles
Colton Cowser will start in center field and bat ninth for the Orioles on Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: With left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on the mound for the Blue Jays, the Orioles have opted to bench Cedric Mullins and let Cowser start in center field. It’s now the fourth time in the last six games that Cowser has started in center field, and the fact that both Cowser and Mullins hit left-handed suggests that Baltimore might have more confidence in the rookie right now. Austin Hays is also starting in left field for the fourth time in the last five games, including three games against right-handed pitchers. This has the makings of Cedric Mullins being moved to more of a bench role amidst his struggles. Rotoworld Today, 7:36 am

    • Next outing coming Friday
Allen is listed as the Guardians' probable pitcher for Friday's game against the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: Allen had been in line to work as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen behind opener Nick Sandlin in Wednesday's game against the Royals, but that contest was ultimately postponed due to inclement weather. Whether than pushing Allen's next outing back a day to Thursday's series finale, Tanner Bibee will stay on turn in the rotation and start against Kansas City. Allen is thus set to take the hill for the series opener in Miami, and barring a late change from manager Stephen Vogt, the southpaw looks poised to handle a traditional starting role rather than working behind Sandlin. • Extends hit streak to four games
Friedl went 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base, a home run, two RBI and two additional runs scored in Wednesday's 12-7 win over Colorado. He was also hit by pitches twice.

Advice: Friedl, who launched one of four Cincinnati home runs in the come-from-behind victory, appears to be getting his swing in shape. After missing a significant amount of time to start the season, he's hit safely in four consecutive games, going 5-for-15 with two home runs, six RBI and five runs. The Reds would like to see fewer HBPs for the outfielder; Friedl's been hit five times (T-21st) in just 56 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:28 am
    • Collects third win
Soriano (3-5) allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out one over six innings to earn the win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Soriano has gone at least six innings in each of his last four starts, giving up a total of 11 runs (10 earned) over 25.2 innings in that span. While the one strikeout match his season low, Soriano also kept the ball in the yard for his second straight start. The 25-year-old is at a 3.64 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 55:26 K:BB over 64.1 innings in 13 appearances (11 starts) this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road at Arizona. • Goes four innings in return
Eflin didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks across four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Eflin was activated from the 15-day IL for Wednesday's start and was yanked on 55 pitches. He was expected to be under a pitch count after only being stretched out to 40 pitches during his recovery from a back injury. The 30-year-old had to shake off a little rust, allowing all three hits and both runs in the first inning before retiring nine straight batters to close out the start. While Eflin will likely remain limited for the next few starts, he's worth a look in his next projected start, which is scheduled for Tuesday against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:41 pm

    • Homer, steal in win
Gelof went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Gelof's bat is coming around -- he's 7-for-23 (.304) with two homers and three doubles during his six-game hitting streak. Prior to the streak, he went just 7-for-51 (.137) across his first 14 games back from an oblique injury. Gelof is slashing just .193/.254/.331 on the year, adding five homers, six steals, 13 RBI and 18 runs scored over 44 contests, but he'll get every chance to continue to starting at second base for a team that has struggled to be competitive. • Grabs five-out save
Miller allowed one run on one hit and one walk with one strikeout over 1.2 innings, earning the save in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Miller was strong, aside from a 102.5 mph pitch that Julio Rodriguez took out of the yard in the ninth inning. This was Miller's first outing since his blown save versus the Rays last Thursday. The flamethrower has been tagged for eight runs (five earned) over his last 7.1 innings, but he has three saves and a blown save in that span. For the season, he's up to 12 saves in 13 chances with a 2.28 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 52:11 K:BB across 27.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:34 pm
    • Tagged for walk-off blast
Kopech (1-6) allowed a solo home run to the only batter he faced, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Cubs.

Advice: Kopech was taken deep by Mike Tauchman as the Cubs won in walk-off fashion. It's been tough sledding for Kopech lately -- he's allowed five runs (four earned) over his last 2.2 innings, taking the loss in three of his last four appearances. The right-hander is now at a 4.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB through 25.2 innings while adding five saves, a hold and two blown saves. If he continues to struggle, Kopech could eventually lose his high-leverage role, though the White Sox's poor play overall has made it difficult for any of the team's relievers to put up saves.
