      Hoskins went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Dodgers.

      Advice: Hoskins opened July in an 0-for-13 skid before the grand slam in his second at-bat Friday. The blast gave the Brewers a 5-2 lead, but they mustered just one hit after that.     • Nestor Cortes strikes out eight against Red Sox
      Nestor Cortes held the Red Sox to one run in six innings and struck out eight in the Yankees’ 3-1 victory Friday.

      Advice: Cortes gave up 410-, 397- and 386-foot flyballs, but Yankee Stadium managed to hold two of them, with only Romy Gonzalez leaving the yard. Cortes remained stuck at 4-7 while improving his now 3.41 ERA and 105/20 K/BB ratio through 111 innings. He’ll get the Rays next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:58 pm
       
    • Paul Sewald blows save, doesn’t get out vs. Padres
      Paul Sewald didn’t record an out while allowing three runs and blowing a save against the Padres on Friday.

      Advice: Sewald is going through it as of late. After blowing a save Tuesday against the Dodgers, the right-hander was even worse Friday night while picking up his second blown save and second loss. He allowed a game-tying homer to Jurickson Profar, walked Jake Cronenworth, and gave up a two-run blast to Manny Machado. Sewald has gone through spurts like this before, but fantasy managers — outside of those have the luxury to put him on the bench until they see better results — should stick with Sewald.     • Takes second straight loss
      Sewald (0-2) allowed three runs on two hits and a walk while failing to record an out, taking a blown save and the loss versus the Padres on Friday.

      Advice: After a sterling start to the year, Sewald has fallen flat to begin July. He's allowed five runs over two appearances this month, resulting in a blown save and a loss in both instances. He's now at a 3.12 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB over 17.1 innings while converting 11 of his 13 save chances on the year. The Diamondbacks are already lagging behind in the wild-card race, and Sewald's newfound struggles won't help them make up ground.       Rhys Hoskins connected on a grand slam, but the Brewers fell to the Dodgers on Friday.

      Advice: Hoskins took Tyler Glasnow deep with the bases loaded in the fourth to give Milwaukee a 5-2 lead. It also gave Hoskins his 12th homer of the season and brought his RBI total to 57.     • Homer, two RBI in win
      Contreras went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a 7-6 win over the Nationals on Friday.

      Advice: Contreras hit an RBI single in the fifth inning and tied the game with a solo home run in the ninth. The catcher went just 4-for-23 in June after returning from the injured list but has five hits and two home runs in his past four games.       Helsley (3-3) earned the win and blew a save against the Nationals on Friday, allowing one unearned run on two hits and a walk with no strikeouts over two innings.

      Advice: Helsley was summoned to protect a 6-5 lead in the 10th inning but allowed the automatic runner to score. He was brought back out with another one-run lead in the eleventh and was able to secure the win in his first multi-inning effort of the season.     • Nestor Cortes strikes out eight Red Sox
      Nestor Cortes allowed just one run in six innings against the Red Sox on Friday. He struck out eight and walked one in a no-decision.

      Advice: Cortes carved the Red Sox up in this one. His fastball and sweeper each induced six swings-and-misses as those two pitches along with his cutter rendered the Sox’s bats powerless.     • Willson Contreras ties game with homer in ninth
      Willson Contreras went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and walk in the Cardinals’ 7-6 win over the Nationals.

      Advice: Contreras’ homer finally brought the Cardinals all the way back after trailing 5-0 early in this game.
