      Advice: Morel snapped a scoreless tie with two outs in the sixth inning, launching a solo shot to centerfield off Joe Ross to put the Cubs ahead 1-0. Morel now has homers in back-to-back games and three in his last five contests following a span of 16 games without a long ball.       Advice: Parker had his least-effective outing through four big-league starts, giving up a season-high three runs while taking his first career loss. The southpaw still managed to keep Washington within striking distance, but the Nationals' offense failed to scratch against four Rangers pitchers.       Lindor (illness) went 2-for-3 with a pair of two-run doubles and a run scored in Thursday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Cubs.

      Advice: Lindor was held out of the lineup Thursday after departing Wednesday's contest with an illness. However, he'd come off the bench as a pinch hitter for Joey Wendle in the sixth inning, pulling a two-run double to cut the Mets' deficit to 5-4. Lindor would then deliver his biggest hit so far this season in the 11th, doubling down the left-field line to drive in two more and give New York a 7-6 walk-off victory. Lindor's struggles early this year have been well documented, though he's starting to show signs of turning things around at the plate -- the 30-year-old shortstop's gone 9-for-29 with three doubles and three home runs in his last eight contests.       Edward Cabrera allowed four runs in four innings while fanning nine against the Rockies on Thursday.

      Advice: Cabrera pitched better than this line suggests, but a three-run homer by Jacob Stallings turned a strong outing into a mediocre one. The right-hander did have command issues, however, as he walked four and threw 56-of-91 pitches for strikes. Still, an encouraging outing that showed off the 26-year-old’s swing-and-miss potential.       Christopher Morel connected on a three-run homer Thursday in an extra-inning loss to the Mets.

      Advice: Morel extended the Cubs’ lead to 4-0 in the fifth with a three-run blast off Adrian Houser. The second-year infielder has gone deep five times, and he’s now up to 17 RBI over Chicago’s 32 games.     • Francisco Lindor hits game-winning double vs. Cubs
      Francisco Lindor drove in four runs off the bench including a game-winning two-run double in the 10th to give the Mets a 7-6 win over the Cubs on Thursday.

      Advice: Lindor didn’t start Thursday’s game, but he finished it literally and figuratively. The shortstop doubled home a pair of runs in the sixth, and in the 10th, he turned a 6-5 deficit into a 7-6 victory when he plated a pair with a two-bagger in the 10th to give the Mets the win. It’s one of the best games of the season for Lindor, as even with the strong outing he’s slashing a disappointing .207/.287/.380 in the first month-plus.       Mitchell Parker allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the Rangers.

      Advice: Parker got into trouble in the third inning when he gave up a trio of run-scoring hits, which accounted for all of the damage against him. He struck out five and only issued a pair of walks. The 24-year-old rookie right-hander has allowed three earned runs or fewer in four consecutive outings since getting the call to the majors back on April 15, but he’s struggled to work deep into contests. He’ll bring a respectable 2.53 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 19/4 K/BB ratio across 21 1/3 innings (four starts) into a tough home outing on Wednesday against the Orioles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:09 pm

      Advice: Three of the Rockies' four runs against Cabrera came on a Jacob Stallings homer in the second inning. Cabrera had the strikeout pitch working Thursday, though his command remained inconsistent, as he needed 91 pitches to record just 12 outs. Cabrera's now been held to fewer than five innings in consecutive outings. His ERA is up to 6.05 with a 1.50 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB through his first four starts (19.1 innings).       Advice: Smith hit one of two homers in the game for Los Angeles, taking Jordan Montgomery deep to left field for a fifth-inning solo shot. The All-Star catcher went deep just once over his first 23 games of the season but has picked up the power since, swatting three long balls over his past five contests.
