    • Ohtani homers, pushes RBI streak to nine games
      Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.



      Advice: Chris Flexen’s fifth pitch of the night turned into a 400-foot homer by Ohtani to kick off the first inning. Ohtani’s homer extended his RBI streak to nine games, which ties the Dodgers’ single-season record.     • Mark Vientos has two home runs in win
      Mark Vientos went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in a 9-7 win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

      Advice: Vientos’ power is legit and he now has nine home runs on the year and six in 19 games in June. Vientos is also hitting 19-for-69 (.275) in June while taking over the Mets’ starting third base role. With the Mets offense surging and Vientos showing a better approach to go along with his plus power, he should be added in all formats where he may still be available.       Edward Cabrera (shoulder) struck out seven over four hitless innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville.

      Advice: Cabrera issued two walks and threw 37 of 60 pitches for strikes in his latest rehab outings. The 26-year-old righty, who has been out since early May recovering from a right shoulder impingement, appears to be getting closer to returning to Miami’s injury-depleted starting rotation.     • Hunter Greene coughs up six runs to Pirates
      Hunter Greene allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

      Advice: The game started with Greene throwing up on the mound after delivering a first-inning fastball and it didn’t get much better from there. He struck out five and walked two and his velocity was fine on the day, but he clearly wasn’t feeling 100 percent. He posted a solid 27 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW, but the command wasn’t great and the Pirates were able to scratch out their runs on just one extra-base hit.       Crochet took a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing five hits and striking out six batters over 5.2 scoreless innings.

      Advice: Crochet was on his game with 16 whiffs and six punchouts against one of MLB's top offenses, but Dodgers starter James Paxton traded scoreless frames with him, and both hurlers had to settle for a no-decision. Crochet continues to impress in what has been a breakout first campaign as a starter -- he lowered his ERA to 3.05 with Monday's outing and ranks second in the league with 130 strikeouts.       Advice: It was a quiet game for the Dodgers offense against White Sox starter Garrett Crochet. Ohtani hit a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to give Los Angeles a 3-0 lead. It was his 58th RBI on the season. He trails only Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna for the National League lead in RBI. Ohtani is hitting .318 with a 1.021 OPS on the season.       Advice: Crochet gave up five hits, walked none and struck out six. It was a pretty good effort considering he was facing the Dodgers, but the White Sox couldn’t score any runs to support Crochet. He was one out away from a quality start, breaking a streak of six consecutive quality starts. Crochet continues to build a potential Cy Young award case with a 3.05 ERA and 130 strikeouts on the season. There’s no doubt he’s been a fantasy MVP, though.     • Plays catch from 90 feet
      Ohtani (elbow) played catch from 90 feet Monday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

      Advice: Ohtani is throwing from 90 feet for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery last September. He continues to progress in his rehab with no issues, and he's certainly shown no ill effects at the plate as a result of his ongoing recovery from the elbow issue. The Dodgers haven't ruled out the possibility of Ohtani playing the outfield at some point in 2024, though that still seems like a long shot.
