    • Day off versus left-hander
Chisholm is not in the lineup for Saturday's contest against the Nationals.

Advice: It's a rare day off for the left-handed hitting Chisholm as the Nationals send southpaw DJ Herz to the bump. Dane Myers is getting the start in center field. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Expected to throw off mound soon
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that Williams (back) is expected to be cleared to throw off a mound soon, Jack Stern of Brewer Fanatic reports.

Advice: Murphy also added that Williams remains on track to return just after the All-Star break, although that would seem to be a tentative timetable given that the reliever has yet to resume throwing off a mound. Williams is working his way back from multiple stress fractures in his back. Trevor Megill has operated as the Brewers' primary closer with Williams on the shelf. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

    • Transferred to 60-day IL
Strider (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Strider is already set to miss the remainder of the 2024 campaign after undergoing elbow surgery in April, so the move to the 60-day IL doesn't impact his outlook. The right-hander will still have his sights set on a return at some point early in the 2025 season, but in the meantime, Saturday's transaction opened a spot on the 40-man roster for Ramon Laureano, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Gwinnett. • Stuck with tough loss Friday
Waldron (4-6) took the loss Friday as the Padres were downed 2-1 by the Mets, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out two.

Advice: The knuckleballer delivered his fourth straight quality start while lasting seven innings for just the second time this season, but San Diego's offense gave little support. Waldron has gone seven straight outings in which he's pitched at least five innings and allowed two runs or less, posting a stellar 1.91 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB through 42.1 innings over that stretch. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Philadelphia. Rotowire.com Today, 7:37 am
    • Braves transfer Spencer Strider to 60-day IL
Braves transferred RHP Spencer Strider to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: The procedural move opens up a spot on Atlanta’s 40-man roster. Strider is targeting an early-season return to the Braves’ starting rotation next year after undergoing an internal brace procedure, not a full Tommy John ligament replacement operation, on his right elbow back in mid-April. • Jack Flaherty starting Saturday against Astros
Jack Flaherty (back) will start on Saturday against the Astros.

Advice: As expected, Flaherty will take the ball this weekend against Houston’s high-powered offense after receiving a couple extra days of rest to address a back issue that cropped up during his previous start on June 4 against the Rangers. The 28-year-old righty has been magnificent this season in his Tigers debut and will aim to keep things rolling in this one. Rotoworld Today, 6:22 am
    • Notches win Friday
Duran (2-2) allowed a walk over two scoreless innings Friday. He struck out one and earned a win over Oakland.

Advice: Duran kept the Athletics off the board in the ninth and 10th frames as the Twins eventually delivered the walk-off win. He's 2-0 with a hold over his last three outings since coughing up three runs against the Pirates on June 8. The 26-year-old righty has not picked up a save since June 2. For the season, Duran's ERA is down to 3.66 with a 17:8 K:BB and 10 saves through 19.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 4:57 am

    • Wild in win
Anderson (6-6) allowed one run on five hits and five walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Anderson once again put on a masterclass in run prevention -- he's allowed multiple walks in five of his last six starts, but he hasn't given up more than one run in those outings. He's now at a 3.9 BB/9 this season, which means he's flirting with danger more often than not despite his excellent 2.58 ERA and passable 1.19 WHIP. He's also managed a 6.0 K/9 across 87.1 innings, which is the lowest strikeout rate of his career. Anderson is lined up to make his next start at home versus the Brewers, which could end up being a tough test despite his recent success. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:55 pm

    • Hunter Greene goes five in win over Brewers
Hunter Greene threw five innings of two-run ball against the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Greene sported some of his best velocity of the year tonight, but he walked five and gave up a homer to William Contreras, leading to the early exit. He got the win anyway, moving him to 5-2 with a 3.61 ERA on the season. He really should be even better than this, but he needs to cut back on the walks some. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:24 pm
