    • Corey Seager added to Rangers lineup on Wednesday
Corey Seager (hand) was added to the Rangers’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Padres.

Advice: As manager Bruce Bochy had alluded to earlier in the day, Seager checked out good and was a late addition to the Rangers’ lineup. Jonathan Ornelas — who had been scheduled to start at third base — was scratched from the lineup with Josh Smith shifting back from shortstop to third base. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

    • Returns to lineup Wednesday
Seager (wrist) is starting at shortstop and batting second in Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Seager missed the last two games after being struck in the left wrist by a pitch Saturday against Baltimore. He was originally slated to begin Wednesday's game in the dugout, but Seager will return to the starting lineup, bumping Josh Smith to third base and Jonathan Ornelas to the bench. • Josh Jung won’t return until after All-Star break
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Wednesday that Josh Jung (wrist) will be shut down until next week to rest his injured wrist.

Advice: The Rangers are hopeful that after resting for a few days that he’ll be ready to go out on a minor league rehab assignment. While it’s not a major setback, it does mean that Jung won’t rejoin the Rangers until after the All-Star break. Fantasy managers will have to continue practicing patience in the meantime. • Out through All-Star break
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Jung will be shut down until next week to allow his right wrist to rest, and the third baseman will not return until after the All-Star break, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: Jung had his swing test Saturday cancelled due to soreness in his right wrist. While a specialist confirmed that there is no structural damage, the lingering pain has kept Jung from swinging a bat since June 20. The hope for Jung is that the extended rest will allow the pain in his wrist to subside long enough to resume swinging a bat before ramping up through a rehab assignment. The 26-year-old appeared in just four games at the beginning of the season before sustaining a fractured right wrist due to being hit by a pitch in early April. Rotowire.com Today, 2:33 pm

    • Progressing, could play Wednesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (wrist) is feeling "a lot better" and will talk with the shortstop to see if he's doing well enough to play Wednesday against the Padres, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 30-year-old is currently absent from Texas' starting nine for Wednesday's contest, but there's apparently a chance he's a late addition to the lineup. Regardless of whether or not Seager ends up starting the game, it's an encouraging development for his availability going forward. Rotowire.com Today, 2:26 pm

    • Corey Seager (hand) out of Rangers initial lineup
Corey Seager (hand) is not in the Rangers’ initial starting lineup for Wednesday night’s showdown against the Padres.

Advice: Rangers’ skipper Bruce Bochy did say that he’ll talk to Seager before the game though and that there’s a chance he could still be added to the lineup. Either way, that bodes well for his status going forward as he seems very close to a return. Expect him back in action on Thursday if he doesn’t talk his way into Wednesday’s lineup. • Lands on IL with adductor strain
The Twins placed Lewis on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right adductor strain.

Advice: The 25-year-old was removed from Tuesday's game against the Detroit due to left groin tightness, but it's now being reported as a right adductor injury. According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Lewis is dealing with a Grade 2 strain and will be sidelined through the All-Star break before being reevaluated. Even in a best-case scenario, he'll likely miss some time beyond that while building back up to game readiness. Prospect Brooks Lee was called up in a corresponding move and should take over as Minnesota's primary third baseman while Lewis is out. Rotowire.com Today, 1:44 pm

    • Twins place Royce Lewis (groin) on 10-day IL
Twins placed INF Royce Lewis on the 10-day injured list with a right adductor strain.

Advice: Unfortunately, the 25-year-old superstar heads back to the injured list where he has spent far too much time over the past three seasons. Twins’ general manager Derek Falvey told reporters on Wednesday that Lewis will be sidelined at least through the All-Star break and will then be re-evaluated. Top prospect Brooks Lee had his contract selected from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move on Wednesday and he should see plenty of action while Lewis is shelved. Rotoworld Today, 1:40 pm

    • James Wood batting third for Nationals Wednesday
James Wood will start in left field and bat third for the Nationals on Wednesday night against the Mets.

Advice: It only took two games for the 21-year-old phenom to slide into a premium spot in the Nationals’ lineup, and as long as he hits he should remain there indefinitely. The premium spot in the order should lead to ample counting stats to go along with his dazzling blend of power and speed — making him a must-add in all formats for the remainder of the season.
