    • Slugs 10th homer
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Ramirez's long ball gave the Guardians the lead for good in the eighth inning. It was his 10th homer of the year, five of which he's hit over the last 12 contests -- a span that's also seen him collect 13 RBI and three stolen bases. The third baseman is slashing .249/.301/.463 with 38 RBI, 28 runs scored, seven steals, six doubles and a triple through 44 games this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:46 pm

    • Plays catch Wednesday
Jung (wrist) played catch on the field prior to Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Playing catch amounts to Jung's first known baseball activity since he underwent surgery April 2 to address a fractured right wrist. While being able to throw with his surgically repaired wrist is a step in the right direction, hitting high-velocity pitching will be the real test for Jung. He still looks to be a week or more away from doing that, as Rangers general manager Chris Young previously said that Jung is facing an 8-to-10-week recovery timeline after more damage to his wrist than expected was detected when surgery was performed, per MLB.com. Fantasy managers shouldn't bank on Jung returning from the IL until around early-to-mid June in a best-case scenario. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:44 pm

    • Brett Baty not in Mets lineup on Wednesday night
Brett Baty is not in the Mets’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Phillies.

Advice: Baty will take a seat on the pine with tough left-hander Ranger Suarez toeing the slab for the Phillies on Wednesday night. The recently recalled Mark Vientos will start in his place at third base and will bat fifth for the Mets. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:03 pm

    • Maikel Garcia getting a night off on Wednesday
Maikel Garcia is absent from the Royals’ starting lineup for Wednesday evening’s matchup against the Mariners.

Advice: The 24-year-old infielder has been scuffling a bit at the plate as of late, so perhaps a day off to clear his head will do him some good. On the season, he’s slashing .239/.288/.369 with four homers, 25 RBI and 10 stolen bases through his first 43 games. Adam Frazier will start at the hot corner and hit leadoff against Bryan Woo and the Mariners on Wednesday night in Seattle. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:00 pm

    • Sitting against lefty
Baty is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: With a tough lefty (Ranger Suarez) on the hill for Philadelphia, the lefty-hitting Baty will retreat to the bench. The freshly recalled Mark Vientos will get the start at third base and could end up filling the short side of a platoon with Baty while he's up with the big club. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:34 am

    • Rare day off Wednesday
Garcia is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Garcia's only other day off this season came in the second game of a doubleheader. He will give way to Adam Frazier on Wednesday, both at third base and in the leadoff spot. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:47 am

    • Nabs 10th steal
Garcia went 1-for-4 with one RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Garcia plated an insurance run with his eighth-inning single, and he swiped second shortly after the hit. The third baseman has two steals over the last three games and 10 thefts on the year. He's hit better in May, going 14-for-55 (.254) over 13 contests to lift his season slash line to .239/.288/.369 with four home runs, 25 RBI and 20 runs scored over 192 plate appearances. • Cleared for running
Lewis (quadricep) did some light running on the field Tuesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta described the upcoming week as a big one for Lewis when it comes to his recovery from the right quad strain that has kept him out since he suffered the injury Opening Day. Lewis will gradually ramp up the intensity of his running this week while incorporating more change-of-direction work into his training regimen. Depending on how Lewis responds to the running work, he could be cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment next weekend. In addition to running, Lewis has been fielding grounders and hitting. • Royce Lewis (quad) ramping up activity
Royce Lewis (quad) progressed to on-field running on Tuesday at Target Field.

Advice: Lewis has plateaued a bit in his rehabilitation process, so it’s an encouraging sign that he’s expected to ramp-up his baserunning this week. The 24-year-old third baseman’s return timetable should come into cleared focus at some point later this week. He’s been out since Opening Day recovering from a severe right quad strain.
