    • Danny Hultzen (shoulder) has begun playing catch.
Advice: Hultzen was shut down in late April with a left rotator cuff strain and general shoulder tendinitis. The Mariners are expected to take it very slowly with their prized pitching prospect. He had a cool 2.78 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 25/6 K/BB ratio through his first 22 2/3 innings (four starts) this season at Triple-A Tacoma and could reach the major leagues later this summer if he can get healthy.

    • Oscar Taveras (ankle) is expected to return to action at Triple-A Memphis by the middle of this week.
Advice: Taveras injured his right ankle last Sunday while attempting to steal second base. X-rays taken in the immediate aftermath showed no structural damage, but the Cardinals have understandably decided to play it safe with their top prospect. Taveras, 20, was batting .317 with an .831 OPS through his first 31 games this season for the Memphis Redbirds. He should reach the major league level at some point in 2013.

    • Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Monday that Anthony Gose will not be an everyday player.
Advice: The talented 22-year-old outfielder was promoted from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday morning but isn't likely to hold much value in standard mixed fantasy leagues. Gibbons said Gose will "help out on defense" and as a pinch-runner. He will not make very many starts.

    • Gordon Beckham (hand) tallied three hits Sunday in his second rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte.
Advice: Beckham went 2-for-4 on Saturday in his rehab debut and is looking ready to rejoin the White Sox. But since he's been out so long -- over five weeks -- the second baseman will likely remain on the farm until Friday.

    • Gordon Beckham (hand) could be activated from the disabled list for the White Sox' series against the Marlins next weekend.
Advice: Beckham, who had surgery last month to remove the hamate bone from his left hand, will begin a rehab assignment on Saturday. The White Sox have been using Jeff Keppinger at second base and will welcome the defensive upgrade with Beckham.

    • Gordon Beckham (hand) hopes to begin a rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Charlotte.

    • Sean Burnett reported no pain in his left forearm after playing catch on Sunday afternoon.

    • Sean Burnett (forearm) will pitch in a minor league rehab game Saturday with High-A Inland Empire.
Advice: The hope is that one appearance will be enough for him to return from the disabled list Tuesday. Burnett has been sidelined since April 26 with left forearm irritation.

    • Tigers recalled RHP Luke Putkonen from Triple-A Toledo.
Advice: Putkonen will provide some needed depth for the Detroit bullpen, which got heavy use this weekend in Texas. The right-hander will operate as a mid-to-long reliever.

    • Jose Molina (hamstring) is available on Monday and is expected to return to the starting lineup Tuesday.
Advice: Molina sat out Sunday and is not in Monday's batting order against the Blue Jays due to some left hamstring tightness. It's not a serious concern for the Rays.

    • Jose Molina said he was "OK" after Saturday's game after exiting due to left hamstring tightness.

    • John Danks (shoulder) went 4 2/3 innings Saturday in his third minor league rehab start.
Advice: If everything checks out with the left-hander early this week, he should be cleared to join the White Sox starting rotation on Friday night against the Marlins. Danks has been on the shelf all year and makes for a decent waiver stash right now in AL-only fantasy leagues. Since he's coming off shoulder surgery and still rebuilding his arm strength, it might not be wise to trust him right out of the gate in standard mixed formats. Even against Miami.

    • John Danks (shoulder) could rejoin the White Sox' rotation next weekend.
Advice: Danks will make what could be his final rehab start with Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday. The left-hander holds a 3.00 ERA over three rehab outings, but he has a 10/9 K/BB ratio over 18 innings and his velocity remains down. Fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach, though he would get a nice first matchup against the Marlins if he returns next weekend.

    • Sam Fuld is in the Rays' starting lineup on Monday afternoon against the Blue Jays.
Advice: Fuld has played only 11 complete games this year and is hitting just .190/.288/.224 in 67 plate appearances. He will start in left field and bat seventh versus Toronto.

    • Colby Lewis (elbow) allowed two runs over 2 1/3 innings Monday in a rehab start with Double-A Frisco.
Advice: Lewis yielded four hits but he did not walk a batter and struck out three. The right-hander threw 47 pitches -- 33 of which were strikes -- and will probably aim to make it past 60 in his next rehab outing. If everything continues to go smoothly, Lewis should be ready to join the Rangers' starting rotation during the first week of June.

    • Colby Lewis (elbow) is expected to rejoin the Rangers' rotation in the first week of June.
Advice: After dealing with a minor bout of triceps tendinitis, Lewis will resume his rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco on Monday. He'll need two additional outings after that before being activated. The right-hander is a nice roster stash in fantasy leagues if you have room.

    • Colby Lewis (elbow, triceps) is scheduled to throw a bullpen Friday and resume his minor league rehab assignment Monday with Double-A Frisco.
Advice: Lewis return from elbow surgery hit a snag over the weekend due to discomfort in his triceps muscle, but it was never a major concern. Barring any setbacks, he could join the Rangers' rotation in the early part of June.

    • Rays optioned LHP Jeff Beliveau to Triple-A Durham.
Advice: Beliveau was up in the majors for only two days and did not make an appearance in a game. The 26-year-old left-hander was sporting a 4.35 ERA in 10 appearances at the Triple-A level at the time of his promotion.

    • Rays recalled LHP Jeff Beliveau from Triple-A Durham.
Advice: It's believed Beliveau will be up solely for Sunday, as it's already been confirmed that Jake Odorizzi will be promoted to start in place of David Price on Monday. Beliveau, a lefty, has an underwhelming 4.35 ERA in 10 appearances this season with Durham.

Advice: Reed has posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 28/7 K/BB ratio in 21 innings this season at the Triple-A level. He should do well in a middle relief role for Detroit.

    • Trevor Rosenthal has not allowed a run since April 24.
Advice: Rosenthal had a rough first month but is back to his dominating ways here in May. The hard-throwing 22-year-old right-hander boasts a 2.42 ERA and 32/6 K/BB ratio in 22 1/3 innings this season and should continue to be a solid source of holds all year. He has been the most heavily-used reliever in the major leagues thus far.

    • Andrew Brown has been placed on the disabled list with Triple-A Las Vegas.
Advice: Brown suffered an oblique injury Sunday and is out indefinitely. He was considered the top candidate to replace the struggling Ike Davis, but is now looking at missing extended time. Mets GM Sandy Alderson insists that a demotion for Davis is "not imminent."
