Mets sent INF Josh Satin outright to Triple-A Las Vegas.

  • Tigers make qualifying offer to V-Mart
Tigers extended a one-year qualifying offer to DH Victor Martinez.

Advice: He'll decline it, but both sides are interested in working out a deal. Martinez is reportedly looking for a four-year pact after batting .335/.409/.565 with 32 homers and 103 RBI this season. Rotoworld.com

  • Kyle Blanks removed from 60-day DL
Athletics activated 1B/OF Kyle Blanks from the 60-day disabled list.

Advice: The injury-prone 28-year-old was limited to 26 games this season due to tendinitis in his left Achilles, an issue that also bothered him in 2013. He hit .309/.409/.436 when healthy, but Blanks still might be non-tendered this offseason in his final year of arbitration eligibility. Rotoworld.com

  • Joey Votto removed from 60-day DL
Reds activated 1B Joey Votto from the 60-day disabled list.

Advice: Votto was limited to just 62 games this season due to a distal quad strain. He'll be a bit of an injury red flag heading into the 2015 campaign. Rotoworld.com

  • Nationals decline $15 mil option on LaRoche
Nationals declined 1B Adam LaRoche's $15 million option for 2015.

Advice: It was a mutual option, and the Nats declined on their end. LaRoche seems likely to move on in free agency with Ryan Zimmerman shifting to first base in Washington. LaRoche, 34, batted .259/.362/.455 with 26 home runs and 92 RBI in 140 games this past season. He will get a $2 million buyout from the Nats. Rotoworld.com

Youkilis collected 1,053 hits, 150 home runs, and 618 RBI over the course of his 10 major league seasons. He spent 2014 playing for the Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan. Rotoworld.com

  • KC expected to decline Butler's $12M option
According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, the Royals are expected to decline Billy Butler's $12 million club option for the 2015 season.

Advice: Butler had a disappointing .271/.323/.379 slash line with just nine home runs and 66 RBI in 151 games during the 2014 regular season and then batted .262/.327/.333 in the playoffs. The 28-year-old designated hitter has put up some tremendous numbers in the past and should do pretty well for himself on the open market, but the cost-conscious Royals obviously feel this downward trend is real. Reds declined INF Jack Hannahan's $4 million club option for 2015.

Advice: An expected move, Hannahan will receive a $2 million buyout and hit free agency. The veteran infielder missed most of 2014 after offseason shoulder surgery and ended up batting .188/.220/.250 over 50 plate appearances. Rotoworld.com

  • Smoak expects Jays to decline option
Justin Smoak said Wednesday that he expects the Blue Jays to decline his $3.65 million option for 2015 and negotiate a new deal.

Advice: It's not a big surprise. Smoak was just claimed off waivers from the Mariners on Tuesday. While the Blue Jays can buy out his 2015 option for $150,000, he's still under team control for one more season through the arbitration process. Rotoworld.com

  • Reds outright 1B Soto to Triple-A
Reds sent 1B Neftali Soto outright to Triple-A Louisville.

Advice: The move clears him from the 40-man roster. Soto, 25, appeared in 21 games with the Reds this season and hit .302/.350/.406 with two home runs and 34 RBI over 75 games in Triple-A. Rotoworld.com

  • Blue Jays claim Smoak off waivers from M's
Blue Jays claimed 1B Justin Smoak off waivers from the Mariners.

Advice: The writing was on the wall in Seattle after Smoak batted just .202/.275/.339 across 80 games this season. The 27-year-old has a $3.65 million option (with a $150,000 buyout) on his contract for next season, but he's still arbitration-eligible for one more year even if the Blue Jays decline it. The addition of Smoak increases the likelihood that the Blue Jays will deal Adam Lind (or decline his option) in the coming days. Rotoworld.com

  • Victor Martinez to seek four-year contract
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that impending free agent Victor Martinez will be looking for a four-year contract this winter.

Advice: Martinez will turn 36 in December, but you can hardly blame him for shooting for a four-year deal after he batted .335/.409/.565 with 32 homers and 103 RBI this season. The Tigers would love to keep him, but they could balk at giving him another four-year pact. Regardless, V-Mart will be in high demand this offseason with offense down across baseball. Rotoworld.com

  • Butler has two RBI, Royals prevail in Game 2
Billy Butler went 2-for-3 with two RBI, driving in the game-winning run as the Royals bested the Giants 7-2 in Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday.

Advice: Butler delivered two of the game's biggest hits, swatting an RBI single in the first inning to get the Royals on the board and roping a single over Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford in the sixth that gave the Royals a 3-2 lead. They wouldn't look back, putting up four more runs in the inning en route to the five-run win. Once in danger of losing his starting job, Country Breakfast has come up big time and again this postseason. Going to a National League park for three games Butler may have trouble finding at-bats, but he'll likely be the first man off the bench for manager Ned Yost in pinch-hitting spots. Rotoworld.com
