  • Dozier puts in three-hit game in loss to CLE
Brian Dozier went 3-for-4 with a home run on Saturday.

Advice: The home run was Dozier's 21st in 2014. Unfortunately for the Twins, the eighth inning solo shot came at a point when the team had already been buried by the incompetence of their starter, Trevor May, as they were down 7-1 when Dozier did went to work. The RBI was Dozier's 66th. He also hit his 33rd double of the year. Dozier's slashing .240/.346/.412, with 21 steals, 21 home runs and 106 runs scored. Rotoworld.com

  • Wong homers, collects three hits in win
Kolten Wong went 3-for-3 with a home run in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Wong's homer, a two-run shot, came in the third inning off of Reds' starter Mike Leake. The home run was Wong's 12th of the season and the two RBI put him up to 41. Wong also scored two runs and walked once in the win. While his overall season slash-line of .256/.297/.402 looks less than shiny, it's important to remember that Wong missed time this season with a variety of injuries. The second-baseman is one of the top prospects in the game and could be primed for a breakout campaign with the Cardinals in 2015. At the very least, he's already shown that he's an infielder with legitimate power in his bat. Rotoworld.com

  • Dilson Herrera out with strained quad
Dilson Herrera is likely to miss several days due to a quad strain suffered Saturday against the Braves.

Advice: Terry Collins said after the game that he intends to leave Daniel Murphy at third with Herrera out, meaning Ruben Tejada and Wilmer Flores will start up the middle. Most likely, that will be the alignment for the entire final week. Rotoworld.com

  • Altuve continues hot hitting in win vs SEA
Jose Altuve went 2-for-4 against the Mariners on Saturday.

Advice: The two singles put him at 218 hits in 2014. It's been a breakout season for the diminutive second baseman, who has posted a career high not only in hits, but in average (.343), OBP (.379), slugging (.456), stolen bases (54), RBI (54), runs scored (82), etc. He's finishing strong for the fantasy playoffs, as September has seen Altuve hit .403/.423/.582. • Galvis homers, sends Phils to win over A's
Freddy Galvis hit a two-run home run, the deciding factor in the Phillies' 3-0 win over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Galvis went into the at-bat 0-for-2 but contributed in a big way, breaking a seventh-inning scoreless tie with his fourth home run of the season. All four of his home runs have come since rejoining the team on August 23, and three have come in September alone. His numbers, though, are still weighed down heavily by a dreadful first half. Galvis owns a .165/.226/.320 slash line with 10 RBI. Rotoworld.com

  • Alcantara hits three-run homer vs. Dodgers
Arismendy Alcantara launched a three-run homer and drew a walk Saturday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Alcantara's seventh-inning blast brought the Cubs within one run before Chris Coghlan put them ahead in the eighth. The 22-year-old has struggled to make contact during his first taste of the big leagues and owns a .214 batting average to go along with a 78/17 K/BB ratio, but he has helped fantasy owners by amassing 10 home runs, 26 RBI, eight stolen bases, and 31 runs scored in 63 games. • Gordon has two hits, steals 64th base
Dee Gordon went 2-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base Saturday against the Cubs.

  • Kipnis (hamstring) could return this weekend
Jason Kipnis (hamstring) could rejoin the Indians lineup this weekend.

  • Kinsler homers, plates three to lead Tigers
Ian Kinsler homered and drove home three runs on Friday, powering the Tigers to a 10-1 victory over the Royals in Kansas City.

Advice: Kinsler doubled home James McCann in the fourth inning to increase the Tigers advantage to 5-0, then smashed a two-run homer off Louis Coleman in the fifth. He's enjoying a terrific season offensively, slashing .276/.308/.418 with 15 long balls and 85 RBI. Rotoworld.com

  • Dustin Ackley homers twice in win over Astros
Dustin Ackley had big night at the plate Friday against the Astros, going 2-for-4 with two solo home runs, a walk, and three runs scored.

Advice: It was the second multi-homer game of his career. Ackley came into Friday's action 3-for-35 (.086) this month. The Mariners and fantasy owners will have to hope that the big game will get him going again. Rotoworld.com

  • Altuve has three-hit night
Jose Altuve went 3-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's loss to the Mariners.

Advice: After going 0-for-6 on Thursday, Altuve bounced back with two singles and a double. He's now up to 216 hits on the year, the most by a second baseman since Rod Carew had 218 in 1974. There's a good chance he'll pass that number within the next couple of days. Altuve currently ranks first in the American League with a .343 batting average, eight points ahead of Detroit's Victor Martinez. Rotoworld.com

  • Ynoa has four hits in rout of Diamondbacks
Rafael Ynoa had a memorable night at the plate in Friday's thrashing of the Diamondbacks, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a triple.

Advice: Ynoa also drove home three runs. He delivered a run-scoring double off opposing starter Chase Anderson in the fourth inning, then tacked on a two-run triple the following frame. While he profiles best as a utility infielder at the big league level, he's now hitting an impressive .417/.417/.528 in his limited action with the Rockies. Rotoworld.com

Rickie Weeks launched a solo homer Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: His fifth-inning solo shot gave the Brewers some insurance, but Jonathan Broxton coughed up the lead in the eighth inning. Weeks has been productive in a platoon role this season, batting .257/.335/.430 with seven home runs and 26 RBI over 114 games. Rotoworld.com

  • Ian Kinsler goes 0-for-5 in loss
Ian Kinsler went 0-for-5 against the Twins in Wednesday's loss.

Advice: Kinsler has escaped the criticism given to Joe Nathan and Justin Verlander, but he's been among the Tigers' biggest liabilities lately, with a .239 average and a horrible .265 OBP in 314 at-bats since the beginning of July. He's walked a total of 27 times in 151 games this year, down from 51 in 136 games last year and a high of 89 in 155 games in 2011. As a result, he's set to finish with easily the worst OBP of his career, even though he's hitting right at his career average. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Ackley has missed a lot of time recently with bone spurs in his ankle. The injury makes it difficult for him to plant and pivot off the foot. So long as Ackley can tolerate the pain, he'll be in the lineup. He's now slashing .251/.298/.397 through 133 games. Rotoworld.com

  • Altuve sets Astros' single-season hit record
Jose Altuve went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Indians.

Advice: The line was fairly standard for the diminutive second baseman, but it was noteworthy for the fact that Altuve passed Craig Biggio for the Astros' record for hits in a single season. He's got 211 for the season, and the Astros still have a week and a half for Altuve to pad his lead. The 24-year-old is batting a ridiculous .343/.379/.456 for the year. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Kinsler got the Tigers on the board with an RBI double in the third inning that plated Nick Castellanos. He would later single and race home on an RBI single off the bat of Victor Martinez.
