    • Absent from Thursday's lineup
Suzuki is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: The Cubs will go with Mike Tauchman in right field, Cody Bellinger at designated hitter and Pete Crow-Armstrong in center field as they try to salvage a series split. Though his power hasn't shown up yet this season, Suzuki enters Thursday's game with a modest six-game hit streak, going 8-for-27 over that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:29 am

    • Seiya Suzuki on the bench on Thursday
Seiya Suzuki is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Brewers.

Advice: Pete Crow-Armstrong, who was just promoted from Triple-A, will start in center field with Cody Bellinger moving to designated hitter and Mike Tauchman to right field. It could simply be a routine day off for Suzuki. Still, it’s noteworthy that the Cubs called up Crow-Armstrong today while demoting an infielder, thereby adding another outfielder to an already full position group. Suzuki has struggled in May, slashing .209/.260/.269 in 16 games while dealing with an injury. However, he has struggled early in the season in years past and is striking out just 19 percent of the time in May, so he is continuing to make contact. It should only be a matter of time before he gets it going again. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:26 am

    • To begin swinging bat
Yoshida (thumb) is set to begin swinging a bat in the upcoming days, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: This is the first real sign that Yoshida is working his way back to playing again. He was placed on the injured list May 1 and spent most of the month shut down from baseball activities. When he does begin swinging, Yoshida will wear a hand guard over the injured thumb. • Posts steal
Suzuki went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-6 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Suzuki has gone 8-for-27 (.296) during his six-game hitting streak, though he hasn't posted an extra-base hit since May 15. The outfielder's steal Wednesday was his second of the campaign. He's slashing .254/.312/.389 with four home runs, 16 RBI, 19 runs scored and five doubles over 31 contests. Suzuki isn't having a poor year by any means, especially when factoring in his four-week absence with an oblique injury, but he's also not standing out in any particular area. • Still not swinging
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Muncy is on a "slow program" due to lingering oblique soreness and isn't currently swinging a bat, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Muncy resumed baseball activities last Tuesday, but his progress has since been slowed by continued soreness in his oblique. The third baseman is already eligible to be activated off the IL, but given Roberts' comments, it doesn't seem like Muncy is on the cusp of returning. He'll almost certainly head out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to rejoining Los Angeles' lineup. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:10 pm

    • Launches homer in win
Adames went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk, three total RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Adames extended his hitting streak to eight games, a span in which he's gone 12-for-31 (.387) with two homers, five doubles and 10 RBI. The shortstop is up to a .255/.328/.454 slash line with nine long balls, 39 RBI, 30 runs scored and eight stolen bases through 55 contests this season. He's bounced back from his poor 2023 and is on pace to challenge for a 100-RBI campaign. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:49 pm

    • Willy Adames goes deep in win over Cubs
Willy Adames went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and a walk in the Brewers’ 10-6 win over the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Adames brought a run in to score with a base hit in the third, then drew walk in the fifth. He later took Kyle Hendricks deep for a two-run blast in the seventh inning. It was his second home run in three games with extending his hit streak to eight. Playing for a new contract this winter, the 28-year-old shortstop is up to nine homers while slashing .255/.328/.454 with 39 RBI and eight steals across 241 plate appearances. • Two homers in rout of Mets
Smith went 3-for-5 with a double, two solo home runs and a third run scored in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Mets.

Advice: The catcher took David Peterson deep in the second inning before getting a hold of an Adam Ottavino sweeper in the eighth. It was Smith's first multi-homer game of the season, and the pair of blasts gave the 29-year-old 100 for his career -- making him the fourth catcher in history to reach triple digits in a Dodgers uniform along with Mike Piazza, Roy Campanella and Steve Yeager. On the season, Smith is slashing .296/.360/.516 with nine long balls and 36 RBI through 49 contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:06 pm

    • Will Smith homers twice, Dodgers demolish Mets
Will Smith launched two homers on Wednesday, leading the Dodgers to a 10-3 victory over the Mets.

Advice: Smith led off the second inning by taking Mets starter David Peterson deep before capping off his second career multi-homer performance with an eighth-inning blast off veteran reliever Adam Ottavino. He finished with three hits in this one, spearheading the Dodgers’ 10-run, 16-hit offensive explosion at Citi Field against a reeling Mets squad. The 29-year-old fantasy stalwart has homered four times in his last five contests and is up to nine round-trippers through 49 contests. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:30 pm
