      Guerrero went 2-for-5 with two doubles, a run scored and four RBI in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Red Sox.

      Advice: He did get charged with two errors, but Guerrero made up for his fielding gaffes with two-run doubles in the third and fourth innings.       Cole (0-1) took the loss Tuesday as the Yankees fell 9-7 to the Mets, surrendering six runs on seven hits -- including four home runs -- and four walks over four innings. He failed to strike out a batter.

      Advice: Making his second start of the season after recovering from an elbow issue, Cole simply couldn't locate his pitches as he served up four or more long balls for only the second time in his career -- the other such start came against the Twins in June 2022. The veteran right-hander did throw 72 pitches (44 strikes) Tuesday, up from 62 in his season debut as the Yankees gradually increase his workload.     • Yields homer in non-save spot
      Hader allowed a solo home run and a walk with three strikeouts during Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Hader stepped into the game for the ninth inning despite not being eligible for the save and gave up his first home run since June 9 to Michael Toglia. After a shaky start to 2024, Hader owns a 2.25 ERA with 30 strikeouts and eight saves over his last 19 appearances. He's also walking batters at his lowest clip since 2019, with 2.4 BB/9 in 2024.     • Cole: velocity dip versus Mets intentional
      Gerrit Cole said after Tuesday’s start that he’s healthy and that he intentionally dialed back his velocity tonight after a long first inning.

      Advice: Cole topped out at 98.9 mph in the first tonight, but he was often throwing 92-93 mph in the second. He did pick it up some in the end, throwing his final fastball 95.3 mph, but it was an awfully discouraging performance. It’s good to know he doesn’t think he’s hurt, though.       Harper went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-1 loss to the Tigers on Tuesday.

      Advice: Harper provided the only offense for the Phillies, hitting a solo home run off Jason Foley in the ninth inning. It was the slugger's second consecutive day with a home run, and he has now gone a ridiculous 20-for-43 with five homers, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored over a current 10-game hitting streak.     • Cole allows four home runs in loss
      Gerrit Cole allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

      Advice: There’s a fair amount to be concerned about here. The Yankees ace walked four and struck out nobody on the day. His fastball sat 95.4 mph on the day which was down 1.3 mph from his first start. He hit 98 mph in the first inning but by the third inning, he threw only four fastballs and just one was over 94 mph. Home runs hit by Mark Vientos and Harrison Bader were on fastballs that were 91.5 and 93.2 mph. Given that Cole’s elbow injury to start the year involved some nerve issues, there’s a concern that there remains a lingering impact on Cole’s health or performance. It could also just be one bad start, but this is the second outing of his career that he did not strike out any batters and the other was on May 20, 2016, so it’s certainly a performance we want to take note of.       Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-5 with four RBI in a win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: Vlad Jr. drove in two on a double in the third inning and then drove in two more on another double in the fourth inning. He now has 40 RBI on the season and has been far and away the Blue Jays’ best hitter this season. He also made two bad errors in the field, but that doesn’t count for most fantasy leagues.     • Bryce Harper crushes 20th homer in loss to Tigers
      Bryce Harper went 2-for-4 with his 20th home run of the season on Tuesday in the Phillies’ loss to the Tigers.

      Advice: Harper broke up a potential shutout with a ninth-inning blast against Tigers stopper Jason Foley with the Phillies trailing by four runs at the time. It may have been a garbage-time round-tripper, but fantasy managers certainly won’t complain. The 31-year-old fantasy superstar has gone deep five times over his last six contests and is up to 20 big flies on the year already. If he stays healthy, Harper has a realistic shot at surpassing his previous career-high mark (42) in the home run department, which he set all the way back in 2015.       David Hamilton is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Hamilton has been playing through a lingering side issue of late and will take a seat on Tuesday night at Fenway Park with veteran righty Kevin Gausman on the mound for Toronto. The 26-year-old speedster figures to make an appearance off the bench at some point in the contest. It’ll be Enmanuel Valdez taking a turn at the keystone to open the game.
