      Kershaw (shoulder) will throw a three-inning simulated game next week and then start a rehab assignment, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports Saturday.

      Advice: Kershaw completed a two-inning sim game Friday -- his second simulated game of June -- and will throw another one next week before being sent off to a rehab assignment. The veteran lefty touched 90 mph Friday and is ahead of schedule in his recovery from November shoulder surgery.     • Fans six in sixth win
      Irvin (6-2) picked up the win Friday in a 6-3 victory over the Rays, giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out six without walking a battter.

      Advice: Three straight singles in the sixth inning kept Irvin from recording his fifth quality start of the season, but the southpaw did tie his season high in strikeouts. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last 10 appearances (eight starts) dating back to April 15, posting a 1.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 36:7 K:BB through 52.2 innings over that stretch.     • Yordan Alvarez knocks in three in Astros’ win
      Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a three-run double and a walk versus the Angels in Friday’s win.

      Advice: Alvarez is 10-for-23 with three homers and nine RBI in six games this month, raising his OPS from .792 to .851. It’d be a big surprise if he’s not one of the AL’s best hitters the rest of the way. Rotoworld Friday, 10:06 pm
       
    • Irvin allows three runs and picks up win Friday
      Cole Irvin allowed three runs (two earned) in 5 2/3 innings and got the win in the Orioles’ 6-3 victory over the Rays on Friday.



      Advice: Irvin gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out six. The win was his sixth of the season. Irvin hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs since his second start of the year back on April 10th. His ERA on the season is now 2.87, though his 4.19 xFIP tells a different story. The 30-year-old left-hander will see if he can keep it going against the Braves at home next week.

    • Touches 90 mph in sim game
      Kershaw (shoulder) hit 90 mph during a two-inning simulated game Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Friday's session was the second simulated game for Kershaw. The velocity he showed is a good sign that the veteran southpaw is progressing well in his recovery from his offseason shoulder surgery.       Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) threw a two-inning simulated game on Friday for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

      Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Kershaw touched 90 mph on the radar gun during the throwing session. The Dodgers have yet to schedule Kershaw’s first rehab start, but it might not be far off. First, he’ll throw another sim game next week.     • Early exit not related to Soto
      Dominguez (elbow) exited in the eighth inning of Thursday's rehab game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but the departure was unrelated to the injury sustained by Juan Soto (forearm), Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

      Advice: Dominguez's removal was planned, as he has yet to play a full game on his rehab assignment as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. Of course, it's still possible Dominguez could replace Soto on the big-league roster should the latter miss time. Soto is set to undergo imaging on his left forearm Friday, and the results will dictate how the Yankees proceed.       Woo (3-0) picked up the win Thursday, allowing two hits and no walks with six strikeouts across six scoreless innings against Oakland.

      Advice: Woo threw a season-high 85 pitches Thursday, an encouraging sign for the 24-year-old after he missed all of April with elbow inflammation and exited his first start after his IL stint with forearm tightness. Even with a restricted pitch count, the right-hander has generated four consecutive quality starts and has fired 12 straight scoreless innings, giving him a 1.07 ERA and 24:2 K:BB through 33.2 innings.       Anthony Volpe went 1-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base against the Twins on Thursday.
