    • Rebounds for fifth save
Clase earned the save in Thursday's 5-4 win over Boston, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: It was an encouraging effort from Clase after he'd blown his previous two save opportunities. Despite his recent rough patch, the 26-year-old Clase has been excellent overall to start the year, allowing just one earned run through his first nine innings while striking out seven as he improves to 5-for-7 in save chances. • Emmanuel Clase nails down fifth save vs. Red Sox
Emmanuel Clase hurled a scoreless ninth to get a save against the Red Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Clase blew his first save of the season Sunday, but the right-hander was back to his usual self while procuring his fifth of the season. The 26-year-old needed just 11 pitches to get through the inning, and seven of those landed for strikes. Clase will remain an elite closing option barring something completely unforeseeable. • Rare day off Thursday
Arozarena is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Angels.

Advice: Arozarena will get just his second day off this season while he's stuck in a 2-for-23 rut at the plate that has dropped his slash line to .174/.240/.275 for the season. While Arozarena rests, Harold Ramirez will pick up a start in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:57 am
    • Rough outing in non-save situation
Bednar allowed three earned runs on two hits and a walk while striking out two across two-thirds of an inning Wednesday against the Mets.

Advice: Bednar hadn't pitched since Friday, so the Pirates got him work, even with a five-run deficit. He allowed three of the first four batters he faced to reach base and allowed an earned run, though he managed to end his appearance with a pair of punchouts. His poor line was made worse when Josh Fleming allowed a pair of inherited runners to score. Bednar's allowed at least one earned run in four of his seven appearances and has an ERA of 13.50. • Stays aggressive on basepaths
Arozarena went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base Wednesday against the Angels.

Advice: Arozarena hasn't had a good start at the plate, as he's hitting just .174 with two home runs across 75 plate appearances. When he has gotten on base, however, he's taken advantage as he's managed four stolen bases without being caught. Arozarena is also striking out at a fairly typical 25.3 percent clip, so there's not a significant reason to panic about his performance yet. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:34 pm
    • Three hits, homer in win
Soto went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double, two total RBI and a pair of walks in Wednesday's 6-4 comeback victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Soto got the Yankees on the board with a two-out double in the fifth inning, cutting Toronto's lead to 2-1, before smacking a solo homer off Genesis Cabrera in the eighth for the 500th RBI of his career. The 25-year-old Soto has gotten off to a great start in New York -- he's now batting .352 with a 1.055 OPS, four homers and 17 RBI through his first 90 plate appearances this season. • Another strong start
Detmers didn't factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and one walk over 5.1 innings against the Rays. He struck out four.

Advice: Although Detmers didn't reach seven strikeouts for the first time all season, he's now surrendered one earned run or zero in four straight outings. After seeing his K/9 jump up to 10.2 in 2023, Detmers has taken another step forward in that category with an 11.9 K/9 through 22.2 innings. The southpaw is tentatively scheduled to face the Orioles on Monday for his next start. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:48 pm

    • Reid Detmers solid again versus Rays
Reid Detmers allowed two runs -- one earned -- with four strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Wednesday.

Advice: After a clean first inning, two base hits and a sacrifice fly brought an unearned run in to score for the Rays in the second. Detmers would hold Tampa Bay off the board until the sixth. Three consecutive singles brought a run in and end Detmers day with one out at 90 pitches. He struck out four and scattered seven hits with one walk. The 24-year-old left-hander has been outstanding to start the season, posting a 1.19 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and a 30/7 K/BB ratio across 22 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:40 pm

    • Juan Soto posts three hits, homers in comeback win
Juan Soto went 3-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI on Wednesday in the Yankees’ comeback win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Soto also drew a pair of walks, reaching base safely in all five of his plate appearances in this one. The 25-year-old fantasy superstar put the Yankees on the scoreboard in the fifth inning with a run-scoring double off Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman before taking lefty reliever Génesis Cabrera deep for a solo shot -- his fourth big fly of the season -- in the eighth inning. He also drew a pivotal two-out walk in the ninth inning against lefty Tim Mayza to set up ensuing batter Aaron Judge’s go-ahead two-run single. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:32 pm
