Advice: Keppinger sneaked it through the left side of the infield with the bases loaded to win it. The veteran infielder went 2-for-5 with two RBI on the night and is hitting .343 (11-for-32) over his last nine games. The recent hot streak has only pulled his batting average up to .210 for the year, but we expect it to continue to rise in the days ahead.

He doesn't excel in any one category, but with his multi-position eligibility, he could be useful in deeper mixed fantasy leagues.

Espinosa hopes to avoid a trip to the disabled list and possible surgery, but the Nationals plan to rest him for a few days. Steve Lombardozzi will fill in at second base for the time being.

Advice: Maybe more patience would be warranted if Espinosa were healthy, but it's quite possible he needs surgery for the partial rotator cuff tear he suffered last year. Besides, he's just killing the Nationals offense right now. Not only is he batting .159, but he's walked just three times all year. His OBP stands at .186.

The 29-year-old suffered a strained neck at the end of the month and hasn't been the same since, batting .232/.328/.286 with no homers, four RBI and one run scored over 56 May plate appearances. It's possible that the oft-injured infielder is trying to play through a malady that would be better treated by rest.

Still, it's an interesting development. Beckham is hitting .462 (6-for-13) with one double and two RBI over three rehab games and should be activated this weekend.

Advice: General manager Ruben Amaro described the strain as "very mild," so, all things considered, it's pretty good news for the Phils. Amaro is hopeful that Utley will be ready when his two weeks are up, but it's possible he could be out as long as four weeks. Freddy Galvis will function as the primary second baseman while Utley is out. The team will make a corresponding move prior to Friday's game.

Advice: Utley was scratched from Tuesday's lineup after he felt pain and a burning sensation in his right rib cage after taking a swing during batting practice. Rib cage and oblique injuries tend to linger, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him land on the disabled list at this point. Get a backup plan in place in fantasy leagues.

Advice: Rutledge's recent slump and LeMahieu's .412/.444/.529 batting line early on, along with his solid defense, has convinced the Rockies to make a change. LeMahieu is a .294 career hitter over 125 games, but he offers next to nothing in the power and speed departments, making him worthy of picking up only in NL-only formats.

LeMahieu at second base for now.

Advice: Prado is still hitting for a better average this month and he did in April, but that's not saying much. He's gone 12 straight games without scoring a run. He has two runs scored and four RBI in 20 games overall for the month. And not only is his season OBP a lousy .283, but he's been caught on three of his four steal attempts. Good thing the Diamondbacks gave him that four-year, $40 million deal before some team could blow them out of the water this winter.

Advice: Descalso's slam followed an intentional walk to Jon Jay. Descalso entered the game with an ugly .197/.265/.289 line, and he probably wouldn't have been in the lineup if not for David Freese's thumb injury. The home run was his seventh in 813 major league at-bats.

Advice: We can hardly blame Hechavarria for not getting a hit against Cliff Lee, but his 0-for-4's have hardly been a rare occurrence. The slick-fielding shortstop had a seven-RBI game earlier this month shortly after returning from the disabled list, but his offense has pretty much been non-existent otherwise.

Advice: Murphy's OBP dropped below .300 10 days ago, but he's been red hot since, picking up 19 hits in 10 games. Now his average stands at .302, and while he's far from an ideal leadoff hitter, it's not as though the Mets have better options.

Advice: If his slash numbers hold, Herrera will finish with the best offensive season of his career, topping the .694 OPS he mustered in 2010. Unfortunately, the utility infielder has scuffled in the field recently, recording three errors in his last 12 games.

Advice: After a down year in 2012, Johnson is now hitting .273/.345/.508 on the year with eight home runs and 25 RBI. The 31-year-old has seen time at second base and in the outfield this season, and his versatility means he's in the lineup more often than not. He looks on track for a bounceback season.
