    McArthur picked up his 15th save of the season in Wednesday's win over the Rays, allowing a hit and no walks while striking out one in 1.2 innings of work.

    Advice: McArthur entered in the eighth with two runners on and one out with the Rays already having scored a run in the inning. He was able to navigate through the traffic and then pitched around a leadoff single in the ninth to lock down the save.     Advice: Jones was removed from Wednesday night’s game after 78 pitches with a strained lat. The team didn’t express much concern over the injury, but Jones found himself on the injured list anyway on Thursday morning. With the Pirates already planning to limit Jones’ innings in his rookie season, this would seem to be an easy way to pause Jones’ innings count for a little bit and bring him back after the All-Star break without having the massage his innings as much.     Advice: The injury caused Jones to be removed early from Wednesday's start against the Cardinals.     Kimbrel picked up the save over the Mariners on Wednesday, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out two.

    Advice: Kimbrel entered the contest with a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and fanned the first two batters he faced before getting Julio Rodriguez to pop out to first for the final out. The veteran reliever has converted each of his last five save attempts, posting a 9:3 K:BB over that stretch while not allowing any hits.     Advice: Three of the four runs charged to Gilbert came across in the third inning when he walked two of the first four batters he faced before surrendering three consecutive hits with two outs in the frame. The right-hander would then give up a solo shot to Ryan O'Hearn in the fifth, marking the first time he's given up four or more runs in his last six outings. Gilbert had gone at least six innings in nine consecutive starts coming into Wednesday's loss while the three walks were the most he's allowed since May 14 against the Royals (span of nine starts).     Advice: Making his 2024 debut after recovering from an elbow injury he suffered during spring training, Williams faded quickly and served up back-to-back doubles to Lenyn Sosa and Nicky Lopez in the fourth inning to kick off a four-run frame for Chicago. The right-hander got lifted after 74 pitches (46 strikes), but some rust isn't surprising and Cleveland will give him time to find a rhythm on the mound.
