• Garrett Crochet starting Tuesday against Rangers
Garrett Crochet will make his second-half debut on Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: It’ll be Chris Flexen, Jonathan Cannon and Drew Thorpe taking the ball during a three-game set against the Royals before Erick Fedde and Crochet draw their first second-half starts against the Rangers. The 25-year-old southpaw, who excelled earlier this week in the Midsummer Classic, figures to be one of the biggest names potentially on the move at the trade deadline. This could wind up being his final outing in a White Sox uniform. Rotoworld Today, 1:20 pm

  • Garrett Crochet shines in All-Star Game appearance
Garrett Crochet hurled a scoreless inning during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.

Advice: Crochet, arguably the hottest name in trade rumors at the moment, one-out single from Alec Bohm to work a scoreless fourth inning. He got a pretty strikeout of Teoscar Hernández in the frame as well. The 25-year-old left-hander, who has paired an astronomical 35 percent strikeout rate with a microscopic 5 percent walk rate, could be a difference-maker in the playoff race, depending on where he winds up in a few weeks. • Strong start spoiled
Gilbert tossed seven scoreless innings Sunday against the Angels, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out nine. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Gilbert was magnificent once again and had another strong start wasted by the bullpen. Gilbert exited with a 2-0 lead that vanished in the eighth inning after two walks and a three-run homer by Jo Adell put the Angels in front for good. Sunday was the fifth time this season that Gilbert did not allow a run in a start and his nine strikeouts tied a season high. The 27-year-old will head into the break with a 2.79 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 124:25 K:BB in 132.1 innings. Since he pitched Sunday, Gilbert will not be available to throw in Tuesday's All-Star Game. • Homers in Sunday's win
Henderson went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Henderson's power pace has dipped in July -- he has two homers this month, though he's still hit .275 (14-for-51) over his last 12 contests. The shortstop's blast gave the Orioles a 2-1 lead in the third inning. Henderson is up to 28 homers this season, matching his total from 150 games last year in just 95 contests in 2024. He's added a .286/.373/.584 slash line, 63 RBI, 78 runs scored, 14 stolen bases, 18 doubles and five triples. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:52 pm
  • Notches four-out save
Scott allowed two walks over 1.1 scoreless innings and earned a save against the Reds on Sunday. He struck out two batters.

Advice: Scott faced a two-on, two-out situation in the ninth inning but struck out Edwin Rios to close out the 3-2 win. He's riding a 12.1-inning scoreless streak while converting six straight save chances. He's now 14 for 16 in save opportunities with a stellar 1.34 ERA through 39 appearances. • Logan Gilbert goes seven scoreless in no-decision
Logan Gilbert shut out the Angels for seven innings, striking out nine, in a no-decision Sunday.

Advice: Gilbert allowed just two hits before leaving with a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, it disappeared immediately in the eighth, as Ryne Stanek hurt himself on a leadoff walk and Austin Voth went on to give up a three-run homer to take a loss. It’s the fifth time this season that Gilbert has gone without allowing a run. He’s a worthy All-Star as he finishes the first half with a 2.79 ERA, but he won’t get to pitch in the game after working today. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:49 pm

  • Memorable three-homer game Sunday
Butler went 3-for-6 with a trio of two-run home runs in an 18-3 win over the Phillies on Sunday.

Advice: The rookie had the most memorable hitting performance in an afternoon full of them for the Athletics, who slugged a whopping eight home runs in the rout. Butler left the yard in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings, capping off his trio of round trippers with a massive 449-foot shot that landed in the second deck in right-center field. It is the first time Butler has homered three times in a game at any level of professional baseball, and his long-ball total on the afternoon represented exactly half his season tally across 187 plate appearances coming into the day. Butler heads into an inopportunely timed All-Star break with his power stroke in prolific form, as he's left the yard on five occasions in the last six games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:35 pm
  • Lifts 11th homer
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Contreras went 0-for-10 over his previous three games. He was able to snap the slump in his second at-bat Sunday with his solo shot, which put the Brewers ahead 2-1 in the third inning. The All-Star catcher has had few quiet stretches this year. He's now at a .286/.352/.440 slash line with 11 homers, 55 RBI, 65 runs scored, 23 doubles and five stolen bases over 93 games. • Falters into sixth win
Kimbrel (6-2) blew a save but picked up the win Sunday, allowing three runs on one hit and two walks over one inning against the Yankees. He struck out one.

Advice: Kimbrel came on in the ninth looking for his 24th save but quickly blew that opportunity by allowing a couple of walks followed by a three-run homer by Ben Rice. To his credit, Kimbrel then retired the next three batters, making him the pitcher of record when the Orioles completed their own comeback in the bottom of the inning. Despite Sunday's outing, Kimbrel has been highly effective in his first season with the Orioles, entering the All-Star break with six wins, 23 saves, a 2.80 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP and 53 strikeouts in 39 appearances spanning 35.1 innings.
