    • Jansen picks up 14th save against Reds Saturday
      Kenley Jansen tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Reds on Saturday.

      Advice: Jansen’s save was his 14th of the season. It was his fifth save in the month of June. After another scoreless inning, Jansen’s ERA is down to 2.49 on the season. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:27 pm
       
    • Pivetta allows three in no-decision against Reds
      Nick Pivetta allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Reds on Saturday.

      Advice: Pivetta gave up six hits, walked one and struck out five. He was on the hook for the loss before a late comeback by the Red Sox offense. It was another pedestrian start from Pivetta that might be becoming a trend. In his first eight starts of the year, he had 51 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings. In his last three starts, he’s had just 13 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres at home next weekend.

    • Early exit in no-decision
      Pepiot came away with a no-decision in Friday's 10-3 win over the Pirates, giving up two runs on three hits and four walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: Despite the impressive offensive support, Pepiot wasn't efficient enough to qualify for his fifth win of the year and got the hook after 74 pitches (41 strikes). The right-hander tied his season high with the four free passes, while the three strikeouts tied his season low. Through four starts in June, he's stumbled to a 6.30 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB through 20 innings, and Friday's outing was his first this month in which he didn't serve up a homer.     • Ryan Pepiot unravels in fourth inning
      Ryan Pepiot allowed two earned runs in 3 1/3 on Friday against the Pirates. He walked four and struck out three.

      Advice: Pepiot started strong with three punch outs in his first three innings and held a big lead. He looked to be in complete control until a lead-off walk to Rowdy Tellez in the bottom of the fourth and wouldn’t make it through the inning. His line could’ve been worse as he left the game with the bases loaded and one out, but Colin Poche got out of the jam with a double-play ball. It seemed he didn’t have a feel for his slider in this one as he threw just three. That pitch has been a difference-maker for him this season and it would be a concern if he took it out of his repertoire going forward. Rotoworld Friday, 6:29 pm

    • Hangs on for 25th save
      Helsley picked up the save over the Giants on Thursday, allowing one hit and one walk over one inning while striking out two.

      Advice: Helsley took over in the ninth to protect a one-run lead and proceeded to walk the leadoff man while also coughing up a single three batters later. However, the right-hander rebounded nicely, striking out Matt Chapman to stop the late rally and earn his league-leading 25th save of the season. Helsley has converted each of his last four save opportunities, though he's also issued at least one walk in three consecutive outings. Rotowire.com Friday, 5:11 am
       
    • Ryan Helsley secures MLB-leading 25th save
      Ryan Helsley fired a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Giants to record his major league-leading 25th save of the season.

      Advice: Helsley was summoned to protect a narrow one-run lead at historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama and made things interesting by issuing a leadoff walk to Trenton Brooks and surrendering a two-out single to Patrick Bailey, which put the potential tying run in scoring position. He managed to wriggle out of the jam by striking out Matt Chapman to extinguish the threat. The hard-throwing 29-year-old righty has converted 25 of 26 save chances this season to go along with a sparkling 2.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 38/13 K/BB ratio across 33 innings (33 appearances). Simply put, he’s been one of the best closers in baseball this year. Rotoworld Thursday, 8:00 pm
       
    • Remains perfect in save conversions
      Yates earned a save against the Mets on Wednesday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

      Advice: Yates protected a two-run Texas lead in the top of the ninth frame, retiring the side in order on 16 pitches. The veteran reliever is a perfect 11-for-11 in save chances this season -- no closer in baseball has converted more saves without blowing any opportunities.
