• Adolis García homers in win over Marlins
Adolis García went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a win over the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: García took a sixth-inning offering from Trevor Rogers and hit it 395 feet at 108.2 mph for his 13th home run on the season. He also added an RBI earlier in the game and now has 40 RBI on the year, which has helped prop up a disappointing .231/.285/.462 slash line. As a free-swinger, García has always seemed at risk for batting average regression, and it’s possible he won’t match last year’s .245 batting average, but the power remains a true asset. • Zack Gelof homers in loss
Zack Gelof went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Braves on Sunday.

Advice: It’s been a season to forget so far for Gelof as injuries and poor play have dulled the shine of his tremendous rookie season. The home run was his fourth in 42 games and he has five stolen bases too, but an ugly 33.9 K% entering play on Sunday has held him back so far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:25 pm
  • Victor Caratini homers in loss to Twins
Victor Caratini, starting behind the plate for Houston for the third time in four games, hit his fourth homer Sunday against the Twins.

Advice: He nearly had a second; his 401-foot fly to right-center in the seventh would have been a homer in 20 ballparks, according to Statcast. We still like Yainer Díaz, but Caratini is certainly one of the game’s top-30 catchers and really should have landed a starting job as a free agent over the winter. He’ll probably continue to cut into Díaz’s playing time in at least the short-term, making Díaz expendable in one-catcher shallow leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:21 pm
  • Guardians bring up Schneemann from Triple-A
Guardians selected the contract of INF Daniel Schneemann from Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Schneemann, 27, is hitting eighth and playing second base in what will be his MLB debut. The infielder hit .294/.428/.556 with 10 home runs and four stolen bases while playing in Triple-A prior to the promotion. He’ll take the roster spot of Johnathan Rodriguez with Rodriguez heading back to Triple-A in the corresponding move. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:15 am
  • Gets call-up to majors
The Guardians recalled Schneemann from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday. He'll start at second base and bat eighth Sunday in his MLB debut against the Nationals.

Advice: Though the 27-year-old Schneemann will take on a starting role in his first game with the Guardians, he's projected to fill a utility role for Cleveland after he saw action at second base, third base, shortstop, left field, center field, right field and designated hitter during his time at Columbus this season while slashing .294/.428/.556 with 10 home runs and four stolen bases across 223 plate appearances. The Guardians optioned outfielder Johnathan Rodriguez to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:54 am
  • Casey Schmitt goes 2-for-4, homers in loss
Casey Schmitt went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Saturday in the Giants’ loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Schmitt slashed San Francisco’s early deficit in half by taking Yankees starter Cody Poteet deep to left-center field in the third inning. It was his first round-tripper of the season. He was the lone Giants’ batter to reach base more than once during Saturday’s one-sided affair at Oracle Park as Yankees starter Cody Poteet and a quartet of relievers limited them to just five hits combined. • Hits homer in loss
Schmitt went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Schmitt got the Giants on the board in the third inning in his first game since his recall Friday and his seventh contest at the big-league level season. He's gone 5-for-26 (.192) with two extra-base hits and three RBI. Schmitt will be an option at shortstop primarily, but he also has experience at second and third, so he may settle into a utility role while in the majors. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:45 pm

  • Yandy Díaz triples, drives in three in loss
Yandy Díaz went 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBI against the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Díaz brought two runs in to score with a line drive off the right field wall as he legged out a triple in the second inning. He was credited with a third RBI after drawing a bases-loaded walk in the third. The 32-year-old first baseman is slashing .243/.320/.350 with four homers and 28 RBI across 253 plate appearances. • Jorge Soler absent from Giants lineup on Saturday
Jorge Soler is not in the Giants’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s battle against the Yankees.

Advice: It looks to be nothing more than a regular day of rest and maintenance for the 32-year-old slugger. Trenton Brooks will serve as the Giants’ designated hitter in his place on Saturday and will bat seventh against Cody Poteet and the Yankees in San Francisco. Rotoworld Saturday, 2:50 pm
