• Trea Turner a triple short of a cycle Wednesday
Trea Turner went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored on Wednesday against the Rockies.

Advice: Turner followed Kyle Schwarber’s first-inning leadoff homer with one of his own, taking Ryan Feltner deep for his second home run of the season. He added a base hit in the second inning and doubled to lead off the fifth before scoring on a groundout. The 30-year-old shortstop is slashing .333/.390/.493 with the pair of homers, four steals, and 12 runs scored across 82 plate appearances. Rotoworld 5 minutes ago

  • Ezequiel Tovar collects three hits versus Phillies
Ezequiel Tovar went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI on Wednesday against the Phillies.

Advice: Tovar came into this one with just one hit over his last four games. He broke through with a three-hit day, getting on base with a single in the first inning before scoring on a groundout. He had to more base hits in the game, including a two-run single in the eighth to make it a one-run game. The 22-year-old shortstop is batting .306/.363/.486 with three homers and two steals across 80 plate appearances. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago

  • José Alvarado locks down third save on Wednesday
José Alvarado tossed a scoreless ninth inning with one strikeout to record a save against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: After the Rockies plated five runs in the eighth to make it a one-run game, Alvarado got the call in the ninth to close it out. He worked around a hit, striking out one batter to lock down his third save of the season. Alvarado has worked in a matchup-based committee, splitting save chances with Jeff Hoffman in the ninth inning. It’ll cap his saves total, but he’s still the best reliever to roster on the team. • Cristopher Sánchez strikes out ten Rockies in win
Cristohper Sánchez struck out ten batters with one unearned run allowed across six innings in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Sánchez was outstanding at home against the Rockies. A base hit and an error put a pair of runners on in the first inning before Colorado brought an unearned run in on a groundout. It would be the only run scored on Sánchez. He tossed five more scoreless innings, scattering five hits and one walk while striking out a season-high ten batters on 17 whiffs. The 27-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 2.53 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and a 25/8 K/BB ratio across 21 1/3 innings. He’s in line for a start against the Reds in Cincinnati on Tuesday. • Ryan Feltner gives up six runs in loss to Phillies
Ryan Feltner surrendered six runs with eight strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss against the Phillies on Wednesday.

Advice: Feltner had his worst outing thus far. He served up back-to-back homers to Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner in the first inning, then allowed two more runs to score on three hits before getting out of the first frame. He gave the Rockies three more scoreless innings before giving up another run in the fifth. Feltner left one baserunner on in the sixth before leaving at 94 pitches. He struck out eight on 22 whiffs. The 27-year-old right-hander saw his ERA jump from 3.38 to 5.06 with a 1.50 WHIP and a 26/8 K/BB ratio across 21 1/3 innings. While he’s flashed some strikeout upside in the early going, it’s incredibly hard to trust any Rockies starting pitcher. Feltner will take on the Padres in Colorado next week. • Sharp against Bucs on Wednesday
Severino (2-1) picked up the win Wednesday in a 9-1 victory over the Pirates, allowing one unearned run on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Henry Davis reached base to lead off the third inning on a catcher's interference call against Francisco Alvarez and came around to score, but that was the only damage on Severino's line. The right-hander produced his first quality start of the season on 96 pitches (61 strikes), and his 2.14 ERA comes with a 21:9 K:BB through four outings and 21 innings. Severino will take the mound next on the road early next week in San Francisco. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

  • Outdueled in Wednesday's loss
Falter (1-1) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk over five innings as the Pirates fell 9-1 to the Mets. He struck out four.

Advice: The 26-year-old southpaw served up a two-run homer to Starling Marte in the third inning, but he otherwise shut New York down over 73 pitches (47 strikes). Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, Luis Severino was a little bit better for the home squad. Falter has been tagged for only three runs over his last three starts and 16 innings, lowering his ERA to 4.05, but his 10:5 K:BB through 20 frames on the year highlights his limited fantasy ceiling. He lines up to make his next start at home early next week against the Brewers. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

  • Returns to minors
The White Sox returned Shuster to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

Advice: Shuster did not make an appearance during Wednesday's doubleheader against Kansas City, and he'll now head back to the minors after being promoted as the 27th man. The 25-year-old lefty owns a 1.42 ERA through 6.1 big-league innings this season but has run into trouble since being demoted to Charlotte. Rotowire.com Today, 5:11 pm

  • Brandon Drury held out of lineup again Wednesday
Brandon Drury (hamstring) was held out of the Angels’ starting lineup once again on Wednesday.

Advice: Angels’ skipper Ron Washington told reporters that Drury won’t start on Thursday either and will be limited to pinch-hitting duties, as they’re trying to protect his hamstring injury from the turf at Tropicana Field. Look for Luis Rengifo to continue to cover second base in his absence. Rotoworld Today, 5:05 pm
