    • Jose Altuve steals two bases in win over Rockies
      Jose Altuve went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and also stole two bases on Wednesday, powering the Astros to a 7-1 victory over the Rockies.

      Advice: As he’s done countless times in his legendary career, Altuve served as Houston’s primary offensive catalyst in this one, playing a key role in a four-run outburst in the seventh inning that ostensibly put the contest away. He got things going a couple frames earlier by reaching on a fourth-inning single before stealing both second and third base and scoring on Yainer Diaz’s run-scoring single. He also contributed a run-scoring single of his own in the ensuing frame before plating a run in the seventh inning courtesy of a fielder’s choice. The 34-year-old veteran fantasy stalwart has shown zero signs of slowing down and is really catching fire over the last few weeks, batting .365 (23-for-63) with three homers, 13 RBI and four steals over his last 15 games.     • Daulton Varsho (back) remains out of Jays’ lineup
      Daulton Varsho (back) was held out of the Blue Jays’ starting lineup once again for Wednesday’s battle against the Red Sox.

      Advice: It’s the fourth straight game that the 27-year-old slugger has missed due to the lingering back issue. Eventually, the Jays are going to have to make a decision here if he isn’t ready to return, but for now they’re continuing to take things on a day-to-day basis. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:32 pm

      Soto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and two walks in Tuesday's loss to the Mets.

      Advice: Soto plated the Yankees' first run with his solo shot in the fifth inning, though the Mets had already built a big lead by that time. The long ball was the first extra-base hit over the outfielder's past eight games, and he's batted an uncharacteristically poor .160 (4-for-25) during that stretch. Soto has continued to reach base consistently, however, due to his willingness to take a walk -- across the eight-game span, he's accumulated an 11:6 BB:K, and he leads the league with 65 total walks on the season.       Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Royals.

      Advice: Despite the sparse stat line, Chisholm played a key role in the victory -- he smashed an infield single back at Will Smith in the seventh inning, and Nick Gordon came home with the winning run on the southpaw's throwing error. Chisholm has had a productive June so far, slashing .286/.338/.414 through 21 contests with two of his 10 homers and three of his 14 steals on the season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:05 am
       
    • Spencer Torkelson homers twice in Triple-A game
      Spencer Torkelson went 3-for-4 with two homers and six RBI for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

      Advice: Torkelson had some nice games immediately after being sent down by the Tigers, but he was in the midst of a two-week slump before breaking out of it last night. Overall, he’s at .274/.372/.452 with three homers in 18 games for Toledo. The Tigers might give him another opportunity soon, but there’s a good argument that Parker Meadows, who has hit .285/.378/.519 since his demotion, is more deserving at this point.       Springer went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Red Sox.

      Advice: The 34-year-old outfielder capped a seven-run eruption for the Blue Jays in the third inning when he drove a Brayan Bello slider into the right-center field bullpen at Fenway Park. Springer is having the worst season of his career by a wide margin -- Tuesday's long ball snapped a 17-game homer drought, and it highlighted his first multi-hit performance since June 3. Through 300 plate appearances in 2024, Springer has managed a .196/.283/.298 slash line with six homers, eight steals, 17 RBI and 32 runs. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:55 am
       
    • George Springer finds power stroke in win
      George Springer went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 9-4 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: It was Springer’s sixth home run of the season and first since June 4th. Springer only has three home runs since April 24th, so we’re not looking at a power surge here. It’s also Springer’s first multi-hit game since June 3rd. It’s certainly nice to see, but the 34-year-old is still just 13-for-78 (.167) in June so we’ll need to see a few more games like this before we believe he’s figuring things out.       Advice: Varsho has been held out of Toronto’s lineup for three consecutive games due to back tightness, but appears to be available off the bench for now.
