    • Lowe homers in return to lineup Saturday
Brandon Lowe went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk against the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Lowe’s home run was his sixth of the season. It was certainly good to see him do something productive in his first game back in the Rays’ lineup since breaking his pinkie toe. With Lowe, you have to worry about when the next injury might come. He’s a decent power option in the middle infield as long as he’s playing. Lowe has a .218 average .756 OPS with 23 RBI on the season.

    • Brandon Drury (illness) misses ninth straight game
Brandon Drury (illness) was held out of the Angels’ lineup once again for Saturday evening’s tilt against the Tigers.

Advice: It’s the ninth consecutive game that Drury has missed due to illness, though he remains on the active roster and has been with the team at the ballpark for each game. Luis Rengifo will slide over and cover second base in this one while Miguel Sano starts at the hot corner and bats cleanup against Reese Olson and the Tigers on Saturday night. • Isiah Kiner-Falefa collects four hits against Yankees
Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 4-for-5 with a double, three runs scored, and one RBI against the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Kiner-Falefa had an excellent day at the plate, collecting four hits against the Yankees while cross home plate three time and driving in one run. The 29-year-old infielder is slashing a strong .296/.343/.427 with seven homers, 32 runs scored, 33 RBI, and three steals across 277 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 3:07 pm

    • Still out of lineup
Drury (illness) isn't part of the starting lineup Saturday against Detroit.

Advice: Drury will be held out of the starting lineup for a ninth consecutive contest and it's unclear how close he is to returning. Luis Rengifo will bat second and play second base. Rotowire.com Today, 2:57 pm

    • Enters free agency
Trejo cleared waivers Saturday and elected to become a free agent.

Advice: Trejo was jettisoned from the 40-man roster Friday to make room for Aaron Schunk, and he'll now look for another opportunity elsewhere after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old has slashed just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances this season, and any offer he receives from another organization would almost certainly come in the form of a minor-league deal. • Alan Trejo refuses outright assignment on Saturday
Alan Trejo has elected free agency.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder was designated for assignment on Friday, but after passing through waivers unclaimed he refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Albuquerque and will instead peddle his wares on the open market. Trejo his just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances with the Rockies this season. Rotoworld Today, 2:23 pm

    • Brendan Rodgers homers, reaches three times in loss
Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored, and a walk against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Rodgers put the Rockies on the board with a solo homer off Jonathan Cannon in the second inning. He then drew a walk to lead off the fifth and scored on a home run by Nolan Jones. Rodgers would reach again with a base hit to lead off the seventh. The 27-year-old second baseman is slashing a solid .280/.316/.410 with five homers and 27 RBI across 253 plate appearances. • Sidelined at least one month
Manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that Dunn has a disc issue in his back and is expected to remain on the injured list for at least another month, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Dunn landed on the MLB injured list Wednesday after originally being sent to Triple-A on June 19, and it now seems that he'll be stuck on the IL for an extended period of time. The 26-year-old infielder hadn't been playing very often anyway prior to landing on the IL, and he'll likely be optioned to Nashville again once he's fully recovered. Rotowire.com Today, 12:33 pm

    • Ankle injury not considered serious
Manager Oliver Marmol said Saturday that Edman (wrist) was able to field grounders again Friday without any problems in his sprained ankle, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Marmol added that Edman remains on track to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield or Triple-A Memphis sometime next week, barring any setbacks. The 29-year-old infielder has spent all season on the injured list, so an extended stint in the minors will likely be necessary, though it's still possible he'll be able to rejoin the big-league club before the All-Star break.
