    • Ryan Mountcastle (illness) returns to action
Ryan Mountcastle (illness) returned to the Orioles’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Mariners.

Advice: Mountcastle sat out each of the team’s previous games due to illness, but he’s now feeling much better and is right back in there as the Orioles’ designated hitter and cleanup hitter. On the season, he’s hitting .273/.317/.460 with 11 homers and 40 RBI in 325 plate appearances over 78 games. Rotoworld Today, 3:39 pm
    • Back in lineup
Mountcastle (illness) will serve as Baltimore's designated hitter and bat fourth Wednesday against the Mariners, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: After missing two games while fighting off an illness, Mountcastle will now return to the starting nine against Logan Gilbert and the M's. Mountcastle had gone 4-for-17 with an RBI and a run scored in his last five games before getting sick. Rotowire.com Today, 3:31 pm
    • Returning to leadoff spot
Springer is batting leadoff as the designated hitter for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Springer was moved out of his customary leadoff spot in early May and had a .188/.278/.281 slash line through 71 games this season, but his bat has come alive over the past week. The veteran outfielder is in the midst of a seven-game hit streak and has gone 12-for-24 with two doubles, four homers, 12 RBI and five runs during that span. It remains to be seen if he can translate the hot stretch into a sustained turnaround, but it was apparently enough for manager John Schneider to give Springer another opportunity atop the lineup. • Big day in win
Ramos went 2-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and a stolen base in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Atlanta.

Advice: His ninth-inning shot off Jesse Chavez gave the Giants an insurance run. After a slump in the second half of June, Ramos is heating up again, racking up multiple hits in three straight games. The 24-year-old is slashing an impressive .298/.373/.524 through 217 plate appearances in the majors this season with 11 homers, two steals, 23 runs and 38 RBI, and he's solidified his spot as San Francisco's starting center fielder. • Delivers three-run homer
Springer went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Astros.

Advice: Springer tagged Spencer Arrighetti for a long ball in the third inning, extending the Blue Jays' lead to 5-0. The outfielder is riding a seven-game hit streak, swatting four homers and driving in 13 runs during that stretch. On the year, Springer has hit nine homers and swiped nine bases in 322 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:54 pm

    • On base four times in win
Donovan went 3-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Donovan had just six hitless games in June -- two of which were at the start of the month and two more at the end. He got off to a positive start in July with Tuesday's effort, his third three-hit game over his last 11 contests. He's up to a .270/.340/.414 slash line with eight home runs, 42 RBI, 37 runs scored, two stolen bases, 18 doubles and one triple over 79 games. Donovan's hit well enough to have a near-everyday role in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:51 pm

    • Goes yard in loss
Walker went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Walker has an extra-base hit in four of his last six games, though this was his first homer since June 20. The first baseman is up to 18 long balls on the year, with six of them coming over his last 18 games. He's added a .259/.331/.480 slash line with 55 RBI, 50 runs scored and two stolen bases over 85 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:30 pm
    • Teoscar Hernández plates three in Dodgers victory
Teoscar Hernández went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI on Tuesday night, propelling the Dodgers to a walk-off 6-5 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Hernández got the party started in the first inning with a two-out RBI double off of Ryne Nelson. He also drove in the game’s second run with a fielder’s choice in the third inning. The best was yet to come though, as he dropped a two-out RBI single into left field off of Paul Sewald in the ninth inning, delivering a come-from-behind walk-off victory and sending the Dodgers’ home faithful into a frenzy. With the three-hit night, the 31-year-old outfielder is now hitting .254/.316/.480 with 18 long balls, 58 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:21 pm
    • Walk-off hero Tuesday
Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Hernandez plated the Dodgers' first two runs and then helped them finish off the back-and-forth game with a walk-off single in the ninth. This was his first multi-hit effort in seven contests -- he'd gone just 2-for-23 (.087) over his previous six games. Hernandez is up to .254/.316/.480 slash line with 18 home runs, 58 RBI, 44 runs scored, four stolen bases, 17 doubles and a triple through 84 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:13 pm
