    • Clutch homer versus Yankees
Yoshida went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Yankees.

Advice: With the Red Sox down 3-1 in the ninth inning, Yoshida crushed a Clay Holmes sinker deep to right field, tying the game and setting the stage for further heroics from Ceddanne Rafaela in the 10th. It was Yoshida's third homer of the season and first since April 20, snapping a 21-game drought that included a six-week absence due to a thumb injury. The 30-year-old may be feeling 100 percent again, however -- over his last nine games, he's batting .364 (12-for-33) with two doubles in addition to Friday's long ball. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago
    • Carlos Correa hits grand slam in loss to Astros
Carlos Correa hit his third career grand slam Friday against the Astros.

Advice: The slam was off Josh Hader in the ninth, but the Twins still came up a little short after scoring seven runs in the final frame of a 13-12 loss. It was Correa’s 11th homer this year., and he’s been one of the AL’s best players while batting .307/.377/.514. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm

    • Locks down 22nd save
Kimbrel picked up the save in Friday's 3-2 victory over the Athletics. He pitched a clean inning with two strikeouts.

Advice: The veteran closer extended his scoreless appearances streak to six with this performance, promptly retiring the side on a tidy 10 pitches. Kimbrel stands fourth all-time in career saves with 439, needing 40 more to pass Lee Smith for third. The Baltimore right-hander has been nearly untouchable since May 10, firing a 0.45 ERA, 0.25 WHIP and 29:5 K:BB across 20 innings while securing 14 saves. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:55 pm
    • Craig Kimbrel saves 22nd game vs. Athletics
Craig Kimbrel struck out two while picking up a save Friday against the Athletics.

Advice: Kimbrel didn’t allow a hit and needed just 10 pitches — seven of them strikes — to get through the Oakland lineup. There have been a few blips for the right-hander, but this was a reminder that there’s been more good than bad in his time as the Baltimore stopper. It’s the 22nd save of the year, and his ERA is now a very solid 2.16 on the 2024 campaign. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:15 pm
    • Masataka Yoshida hits game-tying homer in ninth
Masataka Yoshida went 1-for-4 with a dramatic two-run home run in a 5-3 win for the Red Sox over the Yankees on Friday.

Advice: This was a great moment for Yoshida in what’s been a disastrous season. Down to his final strike, he took Clay Holmes deep to push this game to extra innings where the Red Sox would eventually win it. It was Yoshida’s first homer since April 20th as a thumb strain kept him out for about six weeks. Still, he’s started against every right-handed pitcher since returning from the IL and is 8-for-22 over his last five games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:09 pm
    • Getting breather
Springer is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Springer will get his first true day off since June 18, yielding to Addison Barger in right field. After a slow start to 2024, Springer has begun to turn things around of late, going 14-for-30 with four home runs over his last nine games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:57 pm

    • Set to return Tuesday
Schwarber (groin) is expected to be activated off the injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Dodgers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Schwarber has been working through drills at 90 percent intensity, per Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia, and the 31-year-old slugger will run the bases Saturday in the last step in his rehab program before he rejoins the team. Schwarber is slashing .250/.373/447 with 17 home runs, 49 RBI and a .820 OPS over 367 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:18 pm

    • Luis Rengifo lands on IL with wrist inflammation
Angels placed 2B Luis Rengifo on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 4, with right wrist inflammation.

Advice: While recent X-rays on Rengifo’s wrist came back negative, the second baseman was still dealing with soreness in his right wrist, and now finds himself on the injured list. This is a tough loss for fantasy managers as Rengifo was hitting .315 with 22 stolen bases this season. The timetable for his return is unclear. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:10 am

    • Goes on IL with wrist inflammation
The Angels placed Rengifo on the 10-day injured list Friday with right wrist inflammation.

Advice: It appears an MRI cleared Rengifo of any structural damage in the wrist, but with the All-Star break looming, the Angels have opted to go ahead and put the super utility player on the IL. Rengifo will be eligible for activation on July 14, the last day of the first half, but realistically he'll probably be held out at least through the break. He had been seeing most of his playing time lately at third base, and that position now figures to be occupied mostly by Miguel Sano. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:01 am
