Trejo cleared waivers Saturday and elected to become a free agent.

Advice: Trejo was jettisoned from the 40-man roster Friday to make room for Aaron Schunk, and he'll now look for another opportunity elsewhere after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old has slashed just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances this season, and any offer he receives from another organization would almost certainly come in the form of a minor-league deal. • Sonny Gray chased early in loss to Reds
Sonny Gray allowed six runs -- three earned -- with six strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Gray had worked through two scoreless innings to start the game before the Reds strung together three straight doubled to start the third inning, driving in two runs. A triple, a walk, and a hit batter loaded the bases with one out in the fifth. A fielding error would bring a run in and keep the bases loaded as Gray was relieved at 92 pitches. All inherited runners would come in to score. The 34-year-old right-hander will look to put this one behind him when he takes a 2.98 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a 109/23 K/BB ratio across 87 2/3 innings into a road start against the Nationals on Friday. • Alan Trejo refuses outright assignment on Saturday
Alan Trejo has elected free agency.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder was designated for assignment on Friday, but after passing through waivers unclaimed he refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Albuquerque and will instead peddle his wares on the open market. Trejo his just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances with the Rockies this season. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago

    • Won't require rehab stint
Harrison (ankle) will throw one more bullpen session then rejoin the rotation during the Giants' six-game road trip that begins Thursday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Harrison hasn't seen any in-game action since June 10 due to a sprained right ankle, but he'll be ready to return to the Giants rotation after completing several bullpen sessions. While it's unclear when he'll be slotted to start, the 22-year-old is most likely to pitch during a three-game series in Cleveland next weekend. Prior to the injury, Harrison turned in a 3.96 ERA and a 68:22 K:BB across 77.1 innings. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

    • Final rehab start Wednesday
Snell (groin) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday and is expected to rejoin the Giants rotation after their road trip that ends July 7, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Snell threw three innings in a start with Sacramento on Friday, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts. The 31-year-old will require one more rehab appearance before being reinstated and is on track to make a start with San Francisco prior to the All-Star break. Snell owns a 9.51 ERA across 23.2 innings with the Giants this season. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

    • Kyle Harrison unlikely to require rehab start
Kyle Harrison (ankle) is not expected to require a minor league rehab start before rejoining the Giants’ rotation.

Advice: Harrison threw a bullpen session without issue on Friday. He’ll repeat the process again in a few days and if all goes well it sounds like he’ll be cleared to rejoin the Giants’ rotation. The 22-year-old hurler holds a 3.96 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 68/22 K/BB ratio over 77 1/3 innings through his first 14 starts on the season. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

    • Dealing with knee soreness
Hays is dealing with swelling and soreness in his knee, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Hays jammed his knee while making a play in the outfield Tuesday and hasn't appeared in a game since. He could be available off the bench Saturday, but there's a chance the Orioles wait until his knee has fully recovered before putting him back in a game. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

    • Blake Snell to make another rehab start Wednesday
Blake Snell (groin) will make a third minor league rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.

Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw pitched three innings in Friday’s latest rehab outing, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk while punching out six. Snell got up to 62 pitches (41 strikes) in that outing. If all goes well with Wednesday’s start, he would slot back into the Giants’ starting rotation for the following week. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

    • Austin Hays sits due to soreness in right knee
Austin Hays was held out of the Orioles’ starting lineup once again on Saturday due to soreness and swelling in his right knee.

Advice: Hays jammed his knee near the wall while patrolling the outfield earlier in the week, which is the reason that he has been held out of action since Tuesday. There’s a chance that he could be available off the O’s bench during Saturday night’s tilt against the Rangers. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago
