      Advice: Arias accounted for two of Cleveland's five hits in the defeat and plated the team's final run with his fifth-inning solo homer. The utility man has perked up at the plate of late, batting an even .400 (10-for-25) with a pair of long balls and five RBI over his past nine games. Arias missed some time due to a family medical emergency during that span and isn't an everyday player for the Guardians, so the hot stretch extends back to the beginning of June.     • Homers in first big-league at-bat
      Noel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Orioles.

      Advice: Noel enjoyed a storybook first big-league plate appearance, blasting a solo shot 413 feet to center field. The 22-year-old was promoted from Triple-A earlier in the day after blazing to a .295/.359/.578 slash line with 18 homers and 59 RBI over 65 games with Columbus. Noel's power is unquestioned -- he went deep 27 times at Triple-A last season -- though he has had some strikeout issues during his time in the minors. There isn't an obvious path to everyday at-bats with the big club, but if Joel is productive, he could work his way into fairly regular playing time by moving between first base, the corner-outfield spots and designated hitter.       Mullins went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 4-2 victory versus the Guardians on Wednesday.

      Advice: Mullins broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh inning with a solo shot to right field. The outfielder finished with his fifth multi-hit effort over his past seven contests, a span in which he's batting .407 (11-for-27) with two homers, four RBI and seven runs.       Carrasco allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three batters over five innings in a no-decision against Baltimore on Wednesday.

      Advice: Carrasco was decent in the outing, throwing 63 of 91 pitches for strikes and yielding a modest two runs. He recorded only four swinging strikes and three punchouts, however, and departed after just five frames. Carrasco has exceeded five innings just once over his past six starts, and he has just one victory over that span.       Jose Miranda went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and a run scored in the Twins’ 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

      Advice: With the bases loaded in the second inning, Miranda put the Twins on top with a bases-clearing double off of Ryne Nelson to bring in three runs. He knocked a base hit in the third, then doubled once again in the fifth before scoring on a home run by Willi Castro. Miranda walked in the ninth to reach for the fourth time.       Simeon Woods Richardson allowed three runs with four strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

      Advice: Woods Richardson cruised through three scoreless innings before the Diamondbacks brought a run in on a double by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in the fourth. A walk and a double in the sixth put two runners in scoring position in the sixth. Woods Richardson tossed a wild pitch that brought in a run and moved a runner to third before Gurriel Jr. drove in another run on a sacrifice fly. Woods Richardson struck out four in the win. The 23-year-old right-hander has posted a strong 3.27 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 56/19 K/BB ratio across 66 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:22 pm

      Sean Manaea pitched five innings before a long rain delay on Wednesday against the Yankees. He allowed just two hits and no runs while walking five and punching out three in a win.

      Advice: This was almost the night Manaea would finally complete six innings for the first time since May 13th. Almost, that is, until a massive thunderstorm held this game up for almost two hours when he had thrown 77 pitches through five innings.     • Jhonkensy Noel homers in first MLB at-bat
      Jhonkensy Noel went 1-for-4 with his first major league home run on Wednesday against the Orioles.

      Advice: What a moment for Noel to send one over the fence in his first at-bat as a big leaguer. He put up 18 homers, a .578 slugging percentage, and had three batted balls over 115 MPH in 65 games at AAA this year, so power is his calling card. Josh Naylor is the Guardians’ every day first baseman, but David Fry has faltered in June and played a good bit of corner outfield and catcher along with being the Guardians’ usual DH.       Carlos Carrasco allowed two earned runs in five innings Wednesday against the Orioles. He struck out three and walked two in a no-decision.

      Advice: It wasn’t pretty, but Carrasco went toe-to-toe with Grayson Rodriguez and kept his Guardians in the game. He kept his fastball around 93 MPH, gave the Orioles a heavy diet of sliders, and kept every Oriole besides Gunnar Henderson off the board. He’ll get the White Sox in his next start.
