    • Woods Richardson allows three earned vs. Tigers
Simeon Woods Richardson allowed four hits and three earned runs over 5 2/3 innings while striking out four in Tuesday’s win over the Tigers.

Advice: Woods Richardson pitched four scoreless frames to kick off the game before giving up home runs to Justyn-Henry Malloy and Ryan Kreidler in the fifth inning. He would return to pitch part of the sixth inning but was pulled in favor of Jorge Alcala after walking Colt Keith. Woods Richardson has allowed three earned runs or less in each of his last three outings and will look to pick up his fourth win of the season on Sunday against the Astros. Rotoworld 4 minutes ago
    • Manaea allows one run in no decision
Sean Manaea allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits in seven innings in a no-decision against the Nationals.

Advice: Manaea struck out five and walked two on the day to lower his ERA to 3.67. While the surface-level stats are good, Manaea got just nine whiffs on 47 swings for a 19 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. He filled up the strike zone with his sinker but struggled to throw his other pitches in the zone with each of them getting under a 50 percent zone rate. You can’t argue the results, but there doesn’t seem to be much in the arsenal that suggests Manaea is a much different pitcher this season; however, he could be a solid streamer against the Pirates this weekend. • DJ Herz strikes out 10 Mets on Tuesday
DJ Herz allowed one run on five hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Mets

Advice: Herz also struck out 10 and didn’t walk a single batter on the day. In fact, his only real blemish was a solo home run given up to Francisco Lindor in the sixth inning. The left-hander induced 16 whiffs on 51 swings for a 31 percent whiff rate and 38 percent CSW. His four-seam and cutter did the most damage on the day; however, Herz also showcased a new changeup that was three mph faster with less drop and more horizontal run. It didn’t get many whiffs on the day but induced a lot of weak contact and could be a decent development for the 23-year-old. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • Ryan Helsley snags 31st save
Ryan Helsley threw a scoreless ninth inning to pick up a save in a 7-4 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Helsley didn’t allow a hit while striking out one and now leads baseball with his 31st save, which is incredible since we haven’t even hit the All-Star break yet. He’s been one of the best draft day values of the 2024 fantasy baseball season. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago
    • Gibson gets a win in an uneven performance
Kyle Gibson allowed four runs on five hits in five innings in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: The veteran had pitched four shutout innings before allowing four runs and two home runs in the fifth inning, which would wind up being his last. Gibson also struck out eight and walked just one on the day. Gibson’s newfound strikeout ability is due to his reliance on his sweeper, which has become his most-used pitch. That offering got eight whiffs on 14 swings today and Gibson posted a 34 percent whiff rate and 37 percent CSW overall. The improved swing and miss in his game is for real, but he’s still vulnerable to giving up hard contact; however, he makes a decent streaming option against the Nationals this weekend. • Mitch Keller undone by home runs in loss
Mitch Keller allowed six runs (five earned) on nine hits in five innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Advice: Keller allowed eight hard-hit baseballs, including two home runs that accounted for five of the runs Keller allowed. He struck out five and walked nobody on the day, posting a 24 percent whiff rate and 33 percent CSW. Even though Keller has been performing better of late, there’s not much in the underlying numbers that suggests he’s become a different pitcher. He relies heavily on his cutter for success, and while that pitch was good tonight, the rest of his offerings didn’t miss a ton of bats. Keller is a risky stream this weekend against a red-hot Mets offense. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Emmanuel Clase earns win against White Sox
Emmanuel Clase pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a 7-6 win over the White Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: Clase pitched the ninth in a tie game and allowed no runs with no hits, no strikeouts, and no walks. He then earned a win when the Guardians scored off Michael Kopech in the bottom of the inning. He now has a 4-1 record to go along with 25 saves on the season. Pretty, pretty, pretty good. • Michal Kopech takes loss against Guardians
Michael Kopech allowed one run on one hit in 1/3 of an inning in a loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Kopech entered the ninth in a tie game and allowed a lead-off single to Andres Gimenez. Gimenez would later move over on a groundout and then a wild pitch allowed him to advance to third where he was driven in by a sac fly off the bat of Bo Naylor. Kopech had allowed just one run in his last six innings and wasn’t particularly bad here, but the wild pitch highlights some of the inconsistency that he brings at the end of games. • Rehab moved to Double-A
The Nationals transferred Ferrer's (shoulder) rehab assignment to Double-A Harrisburg on Tuesday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Ferrer appeared in one game in the Florida Complex League, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one batter in 1.1 innings. He'll now join Harrisburg in order to rehab against some tougher competition, though it's still unclear whether he'll report to the Nationals or Triple-A Rochester once he's activated off the 60-day IL.
