    Spencer Steer hit a three-run homer while helping the Reds to an 8-4 win over the Yankees on Thursday.

    Advice: Steer extended the Reds’ lead to 5-0 with a three-run blast off Marcus Stroman; the third homer Cincinnati hit against the right-hander. Steer has now gone deep 11 times with 54 RBI. The 26-year-old infielder’s .239/.332/.416 slash leaves a bit to be desired, but he’s starting to swing the bat better and should be a solid fantasy option over the second half of the 2024 campaign.     Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Cardinals.

    Advice: Reynolds took Andre Pallante deep on the first pitch of the fourth, providing the only run for the Pirates until the 10th inning. Reynolds has found his power stroke of late, with six of his 14 home runs this season coming over his last 18 games.     Advice: Reynolds swatted a solo homer off Andre Pallante to tie the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning. The outfielder has homered 14 times while driving in 48 runs thus far in 2023. It was the only hit of the game for Reynolds, but his .273/.338/.466 slash is solid, and he was much better than that in June with a .330/.388/.504 slash in that month.     Pirates recalled OF Joshua Palacios from Triple-A Indianapolis.

    Advice: What’s interesting is that this move was reported on Tuesday, but Palacios is now being called up with Jared Jones headed to the IL, so we have no idea what the Pirates’ original intended move was. Nevertheless, Palacios will now join a crowded outfield after hitting .311/.386/.419 with one homer and one steal in 21 games this season for Triple-A Indianapolis.     The Pirates recalled Palacios from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

    Advice: Palacios got a late start to the season at Indianapolis due to injury, but he collected a .934 OPS since returning last month. It's possible Palacios will get some run in the outfield with the Pirates struggling to find production from the center and right field spots, but he will begin Thursday's game versus the Cardinals on the bench.     Advice: Yoshida followed up a two-hit performance during Tuesday’s series opener at loanDepot park with a go-ahead run-scoring single in the third inning before tacking on a pivotal insurance run with a seventh-inning ground out. He also walked and scored a run in the ninth inning. The 30-year-old designated hitter, who missed a significant portion of the first half due to a thumb injury, has been scorching-hot at the dish recently, batting .440 (11-for-25) with four RBI over his last seven games.
