    • Aiming to return by end of July
Trout (knee) has been swinging a bat as part of his rehab activities and is targeting a return from the 10-day injured list by the end of July, Jill Painter Lopez of the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Trout hasn't yet done work in the outfield, but he's anticipating being able to rejoin the Angels at the end of July. The future Hall of Famer hasn't played in a game since going 0-for-3 against Philadelphia on April 29. It's not yet clear if he'll play in any minor-league rehab games prior to rejoining the big club. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:58 pm

    • Homers as part of three hit day
Guerrero went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-7 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: After surrendering a 7-0 lead in the fifth, Guerrero swung the momentum back in the Blue Jays direction with a monstrous solo home run to center field in the seventh to put his team back up 8-7 and the score would hold there. The home run was his first this month and his eighth three-hit performance of the year. After a blistering end to June, Guerrero has cooled off a bit in July and is slashing .229/.250/.354 with his one homer, eight RBI and seven runs scored in 50 plate appearances. He'll head into the break slashing .288/.359/.456 and leads the Blue Jays in home runs (14), RBI (55) and runs scored (47) among other batting categories. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:59 am
    • Strong start spoiled
Gilbert tossed seven scoreless innings Sunday against the Angels, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out nine. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Gilbert was magnificent once again and had another strong start wasted by the bullpen. Gilbert exited with a 2-0 lead that vanished in the eighth inning after two walks and a three-run homer by Jo Adell put the Angels in front for good. Sunday was the fifth time this season that Gilbert did not allow a run in a start and his nine strikeouts tied a season high. The 27-year-old will head into the break with a 2.79 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 124:25 K:BB in 132.1 innings. Since he pitched Sunday, Gilbert will not be available to throw in Tuesday's All-Star Game. • Pulled after three innings
Keller didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: The Pirates opted not to bring Keller out for the fourth inning, providing the 28-year-old with additional rest ahead of the All-Star Break. Keller has thrown 114.1 innings in the first half of the campaign and is on pace to shatter his career highs in starts and innings pitched, so it's possible the Pirates monitor Keller's workload during the back half of 2024. Still, Keller should be a strong fantasy option when on the mound, as he has posted a 3.46 ERA with 105 strikeouts this season while cruising to a 10-5 record. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:19 pm

    • Logan Gilbert goes seven scoreless in no-decision
Logan Gilbert shut out the Angels for seven innings, striking out nine, in a no-decision Sunday.

Advice: Gilbert allowed just two hits before leaving with a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, it disappeared immediately in the eighth, as Ryne Stanek hurt himself on a leadoff walk and Austin Voth went on to give up a three-run homer to take a loss. It’s the fifth time this season that Gilbert has gone without allowing a run. He’s a worthy All-Star as he finishes the first half with a 2.79 ERA, but he won’t get to pitch in the game after working today. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:49 pm
    • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. powers Jays past D’Backs
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. clobbered a go-ahead solo homer in the seventh inning on Sunday, leading the Blue Jays to an 8-7 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The two sides traded seven-run rallies in the fourth and fifth inning on Sunday, then Guerrero Jr. swung the game back in the Jays’ direction with a 438-foot (109.9 mph EV) go-ahead solo shot off of Kevin Ginkel in the seventh. He also singled and doubled in the ballgame, finishing the day 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. On the season, the 25-year-old slugger is now hitting .288/.359/.456 with 14 long balls and 55 RBI. • Mitch Keller unexpectedly loses five-inning streak
Mitch Keller lasted just three innings on Sunday against the White Sox. He allowed two earned runs, walked three, and struck out three in a no-decision.

Advice: This was… odd. Keller didn’t look great in this one but also not bad by any means. He was pulled with just 57 pitches and the team has given no indication he was injured either. His command was more erratic than usual and maybe someone on the Pittsburgh bench spotted something and wanted him out of the game. This ended a streak of 49 consecutive starts by Keller where he pitched at least five innings. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:33 pm

    • Getting rest Sunday
Murphy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Murphy caught eight innings and went 0-for-4 in Atlanta's 4-0 loss Saturday evening, so he'll be getting some routine maintenance as the two teams close out their series with a day game. Travis d'Arnaud steps in behind the plate as Murphy's replacement in the starting nine Sunday. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:42 pm

    • Will throw bullpen July 17
Musgrove (elbow) is slated to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: The bullpen session will be Musgrove's first since he went on the injured list June 1 with a right elbow issue. The right-hander was diagnosed with a bone spur and a bone bruise shortly thereafter and received platelet-rich plasma and cortisone injections to address the injury. Musgrove has been playing catch since late June and threw off a mound July 10, though not as part of a full bullpen session. He's expected to accompany the Padres on their three-city road trip following the All-Star break and should continue to toss bullpen sessions during that time with the aim of gradually increasing the intensity of his throwing. He'll likely need a series of minor-league rehab starts prior to being activated off the 60-day IL, and he probably won't be ready to return to the big-league club's rotation until at least early August.
