      The Reds placed Lodolo on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left finger blister.

      Advice: Lodolo battled the blister issue during his start this past Sunday against the Red Sox, and the Reds have opted to give the left-hander some down time in order to let the finger heal. He had been slated to start Friday in St. Louis, but the Reds will now need a substitute.     • Reds place Nick Lodolo on IL with finger blister
      Reds placed LHP Nick Lodolo on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 24, with a left finger blister.

      Advice: Lodolo was ineffective against the Red Sox on Sunday, and it’s possible the blister had something to do with the issue. He’ll be out of action for a couple of weeks, and it seems likely that Graham Ashcraft will take his spot in the rotation. In the meantime, Yosver Zulueta is up to take Lodolo’s spot on the roster.     • Yandy Díaz sparks Rays to comeback win over M’s
      Yandy Díaz came through with a tie-breaking RBI single in the eighth inning on Monday, propelling the Rays to a 4-3 comeback victory over the Mariners.

      Advice: Díaz capped off Tampa Bay’s late-inning rally by chopping a go-ahead run-scoring single into right field off Seattle closer Andrés Muñoz. The 32-year-old on-base machine has heated up at the dish of late, notching multi-hit performances in five of his last six games since June 19.     • Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) shut down for a week
      The Dodgers are shutting down Clayton Kershaw for a week to address the soreness in his shoulder.

      Advice: An MRI detected nothing new in Kershaw’s surgically repaired shoulder. If the soreness clears up quickly, he still might rejoin the Dodgers not long after the break.       Kershaw will be shut down for at least one week after feeling soreness in his surgically repaired left shoulder during a bullpen session over the weekend, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Kershaw underwent an MRI, which didn't reveal any new damage to the shoulder, so the hope is that this is just a minor setback. He had been slated for his second rehab start Tuesday, but that will be delayed indefinitely.       Bichette (calf) went through a full workout Monday and remains on track for activation from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Tuesday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Bichette's placement on the IL earlier this month with a right calf strain seemed to be precautionary more than anything else and he's slated for a minimum absence. The outfielder has logged seven multi-hit efforts over his last 11 contests as well. The power probably won't last, as Kwan remains focused on making smart contact.     • Pitches two frames versus Cleveland
      Kikuchi (4-7) picked up a loss after he pitched two innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three batters in Sunday's 6-5 defeat to Cleveland.

      Advice: Kikuchi was once again ineffective on the mound Sunday, giving up one run in the first inning before the game went into a rain delay after he allowed another run to score and loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the third. Zach Pop replaced Kikuchi on the mound following the delay, allowing two of the inherited runners to score. Kikuchi has been in quite the rut for a while now, allowing 20 earned runs over 25.1 innings in his last six outings. The rough stretch has seen his ERA balloon from 2.64 to 4.00 on the year over 83.1 innings in 16 starts.
